THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
HOT WEATHER - LESS RAIN
Look like we are in for a few mainly dry, but hot, days. The low pressure area in northern Florida continues to drift farther north and will keep southwest winds over the area for the rest of today and tonight. This will lead to some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening - mainly inland and east of the interstate. Temperatures will continue to be muggy and mild this evening with a low in the 70's tomorrow morning.
Computer models continue to show an area of high pressure in the Atlantic building over Florida on Thursday and Friday. This weather pattern looks to set up some very hot days for us and my forecast calls for 95 to 96 degrees both days. There will still be sufficient humidity to bring our heat index over 100 degrees both days. Afternoon thunderstorms will take a break for a few days but despite the outlook for mainly dry weather, I think there could be an isolated storm developing on Friday.
For forward planning this weekend … expect hot and humid days with a few storms on Saturday and better coverage of afternoon storms on Sunday.

The city council- understanding residents concerns, And relying on hired attorney Beverly Grady for guidance.
Sot beverly grady, hired attorney
" When are you as a city council required to apply the old regulation? When are you permitted to apply the pending and now adopted regulation what is pending?"
The development order for this property was submitted the night before council passed a one year ban on homeless shelters.
But Grady says that regulation was technically pending,
so it does apply.
Neale Montgomery, developers attorney
" I communicated with the city as soon as I heard about the moratorium and said 'wait a minute we just went through the process, clearly we have issues and we were advised that we could proceed and if we submitted before the effective date of the moratorium we would not be subject to it."
now it's up to developer charlie maurer and his attorney to prove that the city broke one of 3 rules-
Sot Beverly
" number 1 relies in good faith, 2- upon an after admission by the govt and 3 has made such substantial change in position or incurred excessive obligations or expenses that it would be highly inequitable and unjust to destroy the rights that the property owner has required."
maurer has been building in bonita since 1982,
and says the city's not playing fair
and they have the emails to prove it.
Sot Neale
" we had a submittal, a sufficient response, a staff meeting and i believe even a desk resubmittal before the effective date of the ordinance. So I think there's a lot of facts that need to be evaluated."

WE ALL KNOW THE OLYMPICS ARE THE WORLD'S LARGEST STAGE FOR SPORTS.
BUT DID YOU KNOW ONE FLORIDA COMPANY PLAYS A MAJOR PART IN BUILDING THE OLYMPIC POOLS?
N-B-C TWO'S CLIFTON FRENCH DOVE INTO THIS STORY.

IT'S A SPORT THAT SPANS THROUGH GENERATIONS.
AND EVEN FOR THE SARASOTA SHARKS. A YOUTH SWIM TEAM. THIS IS A SPORT THAT CAN BE VERY COMPETITIVE.
06:46-53 Alexander Gusev, Youth Swimmer "I think it's a really cool sport because I just love water and I think it's very very hard."
BUT IN THIS WATER. SWIMMERS LIKE ALEXANDER GUSEV. HAVE AN EDGE.
THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME POOL THAT'S USED BY THE PROS.
AND IT'S MORE THAN JUST WATER.
IT'S ALSO, A LITTLE BIT OF SCIENCE.
48:15-17 Kevin McGrath, President and CEO Myrtha Pools USA "We use fluid dynamics."
OKAY. A LOT OF SCIENCE.
AND MUCH OF IT'S DEVELOPED RIGHT IN SARASOTA.
43:30-38 Kevin McGrath, President and CEO Myrtha Pools USA "We've played an important role at virtually all of the high level competitive swimming venues for probably the last 20 some years."
KEVIN MCGRATH IS THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MYTHA POOLS USA.
A COMPANY THAT DEVELOPS AND BUILDS PROFESSIONAL POOLS AROUND THE WORLD. IN FACT 7 OF THE 9 POOLS BEING USED THIS YEAR IN THE LONDON OLYMPICS ARE MYRTHA POOLS.
EACH ONE WITH A MAIN OBJECTIVE. HELPING SWIMMERS GO FAST.
45:44-45 Kevin McGrath, President and CEO Myrtha Pools USA "The water is very aggressive."
WAVES ARE THE MAIN BATTLE. AND THEY CAN SLOW A SWIMMER DOWN.
SO TO FIGHT IT, THESE POOLS WORK WITH THE WATER.
"take this dish for instance, when it's half full, ripples tend to bounce around." "but when it's filled up, those ripples flow over the edge."
IT'S THE SAME CONCEPT HERE. WITH SIDE GUTTERS THAT OBSORB THE WAVES.
BUT THERE'S ALSO A FIGHT UNDER THE WATER, WITH CURRENTS CAUSED BY JETS.
SO MYRTHA, GOT RID OF THEM. AND NOW USES A SECRET TECHNOLOGY THAT FILLS THE POOL EVENLY.
HELPING THE PROS. AND THE SARASOTA SHARKS, GO JUST A LITTLE BIT FASTER.
07:06-12 Alexander Gusev, Youth Swimmer "I know that this pool is really great, but I didn't know that it was the same pool as they use in the olympics."
