TRACKING THE TROPICS
Another hot and humid day with only isolated showers is on the way tomorrow. Winds will continue to blow lightly off the Gulf of Mexico and that will keep the high humidity in place for the rest of the week. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 70's again tonight and top out in the lower 90's on Thursday. Each day this week we have been tracking the afternoon downpours and isolated storms, but the wind off the Gulf has triggered the rain activity inland and left most of our coastal areas dry. That's the story again tomorrow…not much rain along the coast and a better chance for showers and storms east of I-75.
In the tropics I am watching two areas of unsettled weather. The first is a tropical wave near Haiti and the second is a tropical wave east of Barbados. The first wave will continue to move west and help push more moisture toward southwest Florida. It looks like we are on track to see more showers and storms by the weekend as this system moves by. The second tropical wave in the Atlantic is looking good to develop into a Tropical Depression and, possibly, a Tropical Storm over the weekend. This is a long way from us and the computer guidance doesn't bring it anywhere close to Florida for several more days. If this system does develop it will be called "Ernesto". But to repeat - this is NOT a concern for us right now and it will be next week when we start to pay closer attention to its track.

Ccso crime scene investigators are inside the key royal gated community trying to figure out what happened. They've been here all day searching for clues.
If you take a look at some video from inside the gates you can see crime scene tape blocking off the entire apt building. Deputies were called to the scene at 9 this morning and found this man--
48 year old joseph godcharles dead inside of his apartment. The s-o is releasing very little information on godcharles' death-- only saying that it is suspicious.
I did speak to godcharles' father and stepmother who live in ny. They are still trying to make sense of the news and tell me they are in shock because godcharles didn't have a single enemy.
Neighbors in this quiet community say they are also shocked and curious to find out what happened.

Flames lit up the sky in North Fort Myers as firefighters battled a massive blaze on Rich Road.
"When we arrived on scene the roof was already falling in, second floor was falling in on the first floor, there were no occupants inside, it was a vacant structure, so we didn't want to endanger any firefighters so we went into a defensive opperation and just threw as much water at it as we could."

It took 3 fire departments to knock the flames down.
In the end, a total loss. and a pile of evidence leading investigators to believe this fire was intentional.
