MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS THIS WEEKEND
Do you have plans Saturday and Sunday? If you do, you picked a decent weekend for it.
The sun will be in full force both days, however, there will be plenty of clouds to dot the sky. Thus, we are calling this weekend a mix of sun and clouds.
First Alert Live Doppler Radar will also print an active picture at times. Isolated storms will billow during the afternoon along the sea breeze. Not everyone will see rain drops, but if you do you'll sure know it.
Thankfully these downpours won't ruin your plans. Just be sure to have the umbrella or rain gear in hand. Afterall it's August in southwest Florida, and this is the typical "August scenario!"
Monday through the rest of next week we'll see isolated to scattered storms around 3:00 PM.
Highs will range from 91 to 93 degrees.
When it comes to the tropics, we're watching a few areas.
First, storms are helping intensify an impulse in the southewest Gulf. It has a high liklihood of developing into a depression, but it will have no effect on southwest Florida.
Next, Tropical Storm Gordon continues to barrel across the open Atlantic. It, too, will be no harm to the U.S. It's heading for the other land mass on the other side of the pond. That is, Europe.
Lastly, there's a low pressure coming off the coast of Africa that will need to be monitored. As of now it doesn't have a great chance of developing, but conditions will become more favorable through the week.

"It's not like it's just somebody missing, it's my daughter."
Her husband reported her missing Saturday evening, saying she had gone
snorkeling alone that morning and never came home.
She was an expert diver.
SOT 23:22:46-
She was one with the water. She was constantly out in the water
Investigators say it was Alan Weiss who discovered his wife's car and dive
bag at one of her favorite spots, Terrenea Cove. He led investigators there
.
SOT 23:38:54-
DW- So this doesn't add up to you?
BC: This does not add up to me.
Rebecca's brother is an LA Sherrif's deputy.
He and other family members have been posting flyers. searching for
answers.
SOT - 23:43:09-

BC: We have not found anyone.
DW: No eyewitnesses at all?
BC: No one has stepped forward to place Babs in the water.
This is now a missing person's case. being investigated by homicide
detectives.
S/U BRIDGE
Authorities recovered her dive bag right here at the end of this foot bridge
minus her cell phone & car keys. At this point authorities have searched
this entire beach and come up with nothing.
Bob Causey says it doesn't make sense why his sister would leave her bag so
far from the water.
SOT 23:43:33-
DW: why is that suspicious to you?
BC It's out of sight! If you were out in the water snorkeling you're not
gonna see that.
The husband Alan Weiss has declined all requests for interviews. But he has
spoken with investigators, who insist he is NOT a Person of Interest in the
case.
SOT
He's been cooperative uh with our investigators
ADD
But Rebecca's mother told KTLA-TV the husband had been having an affair.
SOT
"My daughter told me that she found it on the computer. He has a
girlfriend,

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

On any sunny day, along the ocean beach, they can be seen dotting the sky.parasails.towed by boats and thrilling tourists high above the waves.
It's an exciting ride.
Officials say this is the boat involved in the accident, with the parasail still on the back deck.
Rescuers say after the accident, the crew had to first reel in Stephen Miskell to safety.then circled back to recover Kathleen and tried unsuccessfully to revive her.
Crew members were shaken by the accident.
Kathleen's father got the horrible news in Connecticut, where he later talked about his last conversation with his daughter about her parasailing trip.
The Parasail Safety Council, an industry group, estimates that in the last 30 years there have been 130-million rides involving parasails using harnesses. There have also been 429 serious injuries and 72 fatalities.only 9 of them during those years involving confirmed equipment failure.
Parasailing is an unregulated industry in terms of the equipment used, and the Pompano Beach Mayor says he's tried unsuccessfully to change that.
LAMAR FISHER--POMPANO BEACH MAYOR--I don't understand why we don't regulate this. It's so simple. And who would fight against such regulations when you are really saving lives."
