Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Sunny with spotty downpours around Monday"
We'll begin this Monday with a nice supply of sunshine, but the door will also be open for a few spotty showers moving in from the Gulf of Mexico, and we'll continue to see this pattern through the morning as well as the afternoon. Some of these brief, quickly moving showers will be capable of producing very heavy rain along with frequent lightning. The movement of the rain will be from the southwest to the northeast.
The bulk of the rain will be to our north today, so if you have any plans to travel into Central or North Florida , the showers and thunderstorms will be more numerous and widespread there.
Aside from a few hit or miss showers, we'll notice a nice sunny sky with some clouds mixed in, so temperatures should easily reach the low to mid 90s inland and upper 80s along the coast.
By tonight we'll still see the possibility of a few lingering downpours, but most areas should stay dry. Our sky will stay partly cloudy through the overnight with temperatures expected to dip down into the mid to upper 70s.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, rain chances will likely get a boost as more moisture and instability moves in from the north. We'll still see the potential for some spotty coastal showers in the morning, but most of the rain will come during the afternoon. Meanwhile temperatures will be a touch lower with the extra rain and clouds around, so look for afternoon temperatures to top out in the upper 80s and low 90s.
We'll start to transition back to a more typical summer pattern for the second half of the week when we'll see sunny and hot conditions along with scattered afternoon storms.

Weather Trends
