publisher says "No Easy Day provides a "blow by blow narrative of the
assault beginning with the helicopter crash that could have ended Owen' s
life straight through to the radio call confirming Bin Laden's death. "
The author has since retired from the Navy, but what a career. He has been
on 100s of missions, including the dramatic 2009 rescue of Captain Richard
Phillips from Somali pirates. No one knows exactly what kind of detail the
book goes into, but former SEALS are concerned.
SOT. how they go off target, those types of details are things that maybe
shouldn't be out there because our enemies will take advantage of them

of the most important missions in u.s. military history, and that his hope
is one day a young man will read it and become a SEAL or at least live a

This morning the US Anti Doping Agency says it's official--Lance Armstrong -
ARGUABLY ONE THE MOST FAMOUS ATHLETES IN THE WORLD -- used drugs to fuel
his wins and THEN LED a wide ranging doping conspiracy to keep his team on
top.
Christine Brennan/USA Today The reality is that there is so much cheating
going on in sports that just because you don't fail a drug test doesn't mean
you're not cheating.
Travis Tygart/USADA it's a really important day for clean athletes.it
sends an important reminder and message that if you cheat with dangerous
performance enhancing drugs you're going to be held accountable and the
decision to dope does not pay.
Armstrong, doesn't admit a thing. He spent a small fortune on the case,
fighting and losing in federal court.
He was left with no good options--either face an open hearing and POSSIBLY
damning testimony-or REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE
grfx
In a statement, he writes "enough is enough""today I turn the page. I will
no longer address this issue, regardless of the circumstances."-adding that
he is innocent, but believes the process is "one sided and unfair."
ARMSTRONG SAYS THE AGENCY HAS NO POWER TO TAKE AWAY HIS YELLOW JERSEYS. "I
know who won those seven Tours" he writes.
So if HE used drugs as THE USADA claimshow did he do it?
A former ARMSTRONG teammate Floyd Landis, told us he performed blood
transfusions with Armstrong during the Tour de France. CLAIMS ARMSTRONG HAS
STRONGLY DENIED.
Christine Brennan/USA Today This is a very sad day in sports and when you
think of Lance Armstrong you think of what he means to so many people.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WILL HEAD TO TAMPA NEXT WEEK FOR THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION.

Return to index of stories...
VIRGINIA DELEGATE MATT HURTT ISN'T GOING TO LET BAD WEATHER KEEP HIM FROM HIS FIRST CONVENTION:.
Matthew Hurtt: I'm ready to go storm or no storm, i'm planning on making my flight sunday morning.
HE'LL BE JOINING SOME 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE EXPECTED TO BE FLYING INTO TAMPA.
Hurtt: I've packed an extra umbrella and a couple of jackets just to make sure, it will definitely be my first tropical storm.
RIGHT NOW, THE MAJOR AIRLINES ARE MONITORING THE STORM FROM THEIR OPERATION CENTERS ---LIKE THIS ONE AT DELTA HEADQUARTERS IN ATLANTA.
THE AIRLINES WE TALKED TO SAY IT'S STILL TOO EARLY TO KNOW WHAT IMPACT - IF ANY - THE STORM COULD HAVE ON FLIGHTS.
THIS FAR OUT, ISAAC'S PATH IS TOO UNPREDICTABLE.
Chad Myers: Right now there are no indications of any canceled flights yet to Tampa, but if this track does turn back toward the east, running this storm over Tampa certainly there would be cancelations.
THE STORM IS CHURNING IN THE CARIBBEAN NOW - AND AIRLINES ARE ALLOWING PASSENGERS TO CHANGE THEIR FLIGHTS FOR FREE IF THEY'RE FLYING TO IMPACTED ISLANDS.
THAT WAIVER WOULD BE EXTENDED TO TAMPA TRAVELERS IF THE WEATHER GETS MESSY THERE. AND IF THAT HAPPENS, IT'S BOUND TO BE MORE COMPLICATED BECAUSE SO MANY TRAVELERS ARE HEADING THERE AT THE SAME TIME.
AIRLINES COULD ADD EXTRA FLIGHTS OR USE LARGER PLANES TO MOVE PEOPLE OUT OF TAMPA-- BEFORE THE STORM HITS.
JANET ZINK, WITH THE TAMPA AIRPORT SAYS IF THE STORM COMES, THEY ARE READY.
We've been through this before. It does not completely paralyze us. It might shut down the airport for a little while or stop flights for a while. But as I said we are very used to dealing with this.
REGARDLESS OF THE POTENTIAL STORM, MATT HURTT IS DETERMINED TO RIDE IT OUT.
Question: what's your message to mother nature?
Hurtt: That's a good question, bring it on, let's do this.
