Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
All eyes will be on the tropics this weekend as Isaac moves across the Caribbean. In the meantime, the weather across Southwest Florida will stay hot and humid with below normal rain chances for Friday.
Plenty of sun this morning will give way to partly sunny skies as we go through the afternoon. Temperatures will warm from the middle and upper 70s to the lower to middle 90s.
A few isolated downpours are possible through the peak heating of the day as the sea breeze tries to make its way inland, however the vast majority of southwest Florida will stay fairly dry.
Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with lows in mid 70s to near 80° along the coast and beach locations.
A few afternoon showers and storms remain in the forecast for Saturday with temperatures in the 90s.
By Sunday, we'll begin to see an increase in the cloud cover due to Tropical Storm Isaac along with breezier conditions, with deteriorating conditions during the evening hours.
Models are currently favoring a path near or just offshore the west coast of Florida, but that track will be fine tuned in the days ahead, and all of Southwest Florida remains in the forecast cone.

Full Forecast
