FORECAST OPEN
Return to index of stories...
Tropical Storm Isaac now has southwest Florida in its rearview mirror, but we are still feeling its impact.
The skies have been quite cloudy today, and at times you had to throw on the rain jacket.
While we saw scattered showers, the east coast of Florida saw a deluge. They've seen an additional 5 to 10 inches of rain just today alone. We've been stuck in the middle of Isaac and that spiraling rain band today. When you are caught in that area the air sinks, and when it sinks it limits your rain coverage.
We have a chance to see very heavy rainfall overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning as Isaac moves further away and that associated band of rain moves with it. We will not pick up as much rain as the east coast, but a few more inches are definitely possible.
With Isaac to our west that keeps our winds from the south which pulls up a lot of moisture. That moisture is seen as clouds and is felt as rain.
Good news - conditions will improve come Thursday when Isaac is well away from us.
