THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
ISAAC HITTING LOUISIANA - OUR AFFECTS FADE
The wind and rain from Isaac continues to subside and by tomorrow our weather returns to normal for August. It looks like Isaac will make landfall tonight very near the Mississippi River delta and continue to move over, or near, New Orleans. Flooding rains and hurricane force winds will make for a long night in the Big Easy.
Our weather tonight looks mainly quiet but still a bit breezy. A few passing showers are possible this evening with winds at 10 - 20 mph pushing the rain quickly from north to south. The low tonight will be just under 80 degrees.
Tomorrow, the winds come around to a more southeasterly direction and the morning hours looks mostly sunny. A few clouds will build by the afternoon and there is a 30 - 40% chance for some thunderstorms to develop.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week and the holiday weekend we will continue to track fair skies in the morning and afternoon thunderstorms. Over the next week it looks like there is a chance for thunderstorms each day except Friday. Computer models keep that day mainly dry - but we'll have to see about that! It's back to typical August/September weather.
The tropical Atlantic still features a couple of systems to watch; however, the long-range forecast take developing storms away from the United States as of right now.

Getting that perfect shot of a black bear-almost took a turn for the worst for 11-year old Miguel Lolibares' mother.
01:36 Miguel
The bear was a little terrified of her and my mom was too and everybody was laughing.
But getting too close to this wild animal is no laughing matter. Especially for Lolibares.
01:45 Miguel
I was really scared. Terrified that the bear would eat my mom because we all need our moms.
Keith Courtrmanche-and his friends shot this video in the driveway of their home-just off of Port Au Prince road.
He says they tried not to get too close.
06:42 Keith
It's kind of a bit of excitement. Everybody wants to grab their cameras and film.
Fwc spokesman Jorge Pino says filming the bear isn't the problem. It's what was captured here this video.
55:40 Jorge Pino- Fwc
I was shocked to be honest with you, that people would actually put would actually put themselves in harms way to get a picture or video of a bear.
Pino says the video shows the bear was only protecting itself.
Sot
59:03 Jorge Pino -Fwc
I don't think the bear did anything wrong in this situation. I think the humans did the incorrect thing by placing themselves in harms way. They should have left that bear alone, and call authorities and let us deal with the bear.
It's something Lolibares says his mom knows now.
02:59 Miguel
She learned a valuable lesson.
Reporter:What's that?
Never get close to a bear.

-mayor john sullivan-"I think this is going to be first of all a long-term negotiation."
Which is why cape coral mayor john sullivan says he's in no rush. Sullivan supports the transportation advisory committee's decision to halt negotiations over toll revenue with current county commissioners.
-sullivan-"by november new people sitting in seats. I feel it would be a waste of time to negotiate when another group is going to come in. In the middle of the game the players will change.
But the city's position will not.
Last year, lee county collected nearly $27 million dollars in toll revenue. After paying construction debts, maintanence costs and other obligations, there's about $3 million dollars left. Cape coral wants half of that.
-sullivan-"we feel cape coral should have more say so in which projects this money is being spent on.
In the letter obtained by nbc2, councilman kevin mcgrail, outlines four requests:
Rewrite the interlocal agreement clarifying the project limits and definition.
A proposal to modify the surplus toll split to 50/50.
The city wants an equal voice in setting any possible changes to the toll rate.
And the city wants to approve projects to be funding with toll funding.
