THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
BACK TO NORMAL
Our weather for the next several days is looking pretty good. We a looking a several days in a row of highs in the 90's, lows in the 70's and a couple of afternoon downpours or storms to track. According to the computer forecasts today, our chance for afternoon rain is actually a little lower than normal. That certainly doesn't mean that we will be dry and I do anticipate the afternoon showers to be isolated across southwest Florida through the weekend.
The tropics are active, but there is nothing pointing at Florida.
Isaac continues to move north and will spread rain up the Mississippi River Valley. Hurricane Kirk is in the Atlantic and will recurve northward. Tropical Storm Leslie is also in the far Atlantic and will likely move west for a few days before recurving north.

THE GRAINY VIDEO MAKES IT LOOK LIKE THESE ARE KIDS PICKING ON SOMEONE IN A DARK SECRET SPOT. BUT THIS HAPPENED INSIDE A GIG HARBOR CLASSMATE WITH A TEACHER IN VIEW OF IT ALL.
THE 13-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO WE'RE NOT NAMING-- HAD HIS SOCK PUT IN HIS MOUTH AND HAD HIS FEET WRITTEN ON BACK IN FEBRUARY DURING WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A TIME FOR STUDENTS TO IMPROVE THEIR READING SKILLS.
"I had no idea no idea at all"
HIS PARENTS WERE TOLD THEIR SON HAD BEEN BEATEN UP BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY HE WAS SUDDENLY SCARED TO GO BACK TO CLASS.
WHEN THEY LEARNED STUDENTS VIDEOTAPED THE INCIDENT ON THEIR CELL PHONE THEY ASKED TO SEE THE VIDEOS.
"They kept telling us we can't see it because of privacy concerns with other kids. I said I'm trying to keep my son from committing suicide. What's going on here?"
THEY WERE SHOCKED TO SEE WHAT THE CLASSMATES DID TO THEIR SON BUT THEY WERE ANGERED TO LEARN THE TEACHER PARTICIPATED IN IT.
IN ONE CLIP JOHN ROSI WEARING THE YELLOW SHIRT. THREATENS TO SIT ON THE BOY SAYING
NATS
"I'm feeling a little gassy."
"I'm feeling a little gassy."
AND WHEN THEIR SON APPROACHES THE TEACHER AND PICKS A FIGHT ADMITTEDLY JOKINGLY THE TEACHER PLAYFULLY TAKES HIM DOWN.
THE BOY'S PARENTS ADMIT THEIR SON APPEARS TO BE PLAYING ALONG BUT THEY THINK THAT WAS A COPING MECHANISM AND REGARDLESS THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN CLASS.
"I think the teacher was more like one of the boys than the educator"
"I was horrified by what I saw"
AFTER AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT PUT ROSI ON A 10-DAY SUSPENSION WITHOUT PAY.
BUT THE ACTING SUPERINTENDENT SAYS IT WAS NOT DEEMED A FIREABLE OFFENSE.
"It's an isolated situation in an 18-year career that's horrific and it deserves some pretty significant action fast. And that's what we did."
THE STUDENT'S PARENTS PULLED THEIR SON OUT OF THE DISTRICT IN PART BECAUSE THEY DON'T THINK ANY CLASS WITH MR. ROSI IS SAFE.

"I just don't think he realizes what he's done."
