6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

After a couple dry sunny days, rain chances will gradually be on the rise as a front slowly slides in from the north. Since the front will only be only crawling our way, the areas most at risk for seeing a passing shower will be locations farther north.

If you're in Charlotte or Desoto County, you'll see the most shower activity followed by Lee, Glades, and Hendry County. Locations across Collier County may even see a few passing showers later today, but coverage there will be fairly spotty.

Even for areas that see the best chance of rain, showers will still be fairly scattered, so today shouldn't be a complete washout for anyone. Just expect showers to pass through from time to time.

We'll even see a fair amount of sun through your Sunday along with a refreshing breeze out of the southwest from 5-15 mph. Temperatures will be close to yesterday's numbers, so most spots should warm into the upper 80s and low 90s.

By tonight we'll still see the possibility for some isolated rain, but later in the night the main target areas for rain will be close to the coast.

On Monday and Tuesday, the front will stall over Central and South Florida, keeping a good chance of showers in our forecast both days. On Monday most of us will get our best chance of rain in the morning and early afternoon, and then on Tuesday both day parts will be fair game for rain.

Rain chances should start to come down a little Wednesday as some slightly drier air trickles into Southwest Florida. There will still be enough moisture around, however, to keep a chance of afternoon and evening rain in the forecast. Return to index of stories...

WITH THE SUPPORT FROM FORMER REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR - TURNED INDEPENDENT, CHARLIE CRIST. PRESIDENT OBAMA KICKED-OFF A TWO-DAY CAMPAIGN TOUR THROUGH FLORIDA WITH HIS MESSAGE OF MOVING FORWARD.

I've got a plan to export more products and outsource fewer jobs. After a decade of decline, this country's now created over 500,000 jobs in the last 2 1/2 years alone just in manufacturing. That's faster than any time since the '90s.

MITT ROMNEY HIT THE GROUND IN THE ALL-IMPORTANT STATE OF VIRGINIA. WITH STOPS IN VIRGINIA BEACH AND RICHMOND.

THE G-O-P PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE TALKED ABOUT JOBS AND THE ECONOMY.

For every net new job that was created last month four people dropped out of the workforce. This is not the kind of news the American people were hoping for and deserve.

OBAMA AND ROMNEY'S VICE PRESIDENTIAL RUNNINGMATES WERE ALSO ON THE TRAIL, SATURDAY.

PAUL RYAN IS RALLYING IN CALIFORNIA.

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

HANTAVIRUS ALERT-PKG

A ticket to the splendor of Yosemite National Park now comes with a warning.

Amid the vast granite cliffs and and breathtaking waterfalls, the deadly hantivirus is also here. 8 confirmed cases in the park, three people have died.

Because Yosemite draws so many tourists from outside the U-S, the World Health Organization issued a global alert about the rare, rodent-borne virus.

The popular Curry Village has been the epicenter of the outbreak. rangers believe mice got into the inner walls of some of the area's tent cabins.

Health officials say as many as 29-thousand people who visited the park could be at risk. almost triple their assessment of 10-thousand just days ago.

The early symptoms of Hantivirus mimic the flu -- headaches, fever and bodyache -- but the deadly virus cannot be transmitted from one person to another.

Steve Sales didn't cancel his trip, but others have. hard-to-get reservations made a year in advance have become no-shows as caution cancels many vacations.

GIRL WRITES BOOK ABOUT HEAVEN-ONCAM

SHE LOST 5 OF HER FAMILY MEMBERS IN A TORNADO.

AND NOW SHE'S WRITINGE A BOOK ABOUT IT.

SHE DESCRIBES SEEING HER FAMILY ENTER HEAVEN.

BUT EVEN MORE FASCINATING IS THE FACT THAT THIS AUTHOR IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD.

MARK THORNHILL HAS HER INCREDIBLE STORY. Return to index of stories...

GIRL WRITES BOOK ABOUT HEAVEN-PKG

ARI HALLMARK ISN'T JUST READING A BOOK. SHE'S READING A BOOK SHE WROTE.

IT'S CALLED "TO HEAVEN: AFTER THE STORM."

IN IT, SHE RECOUNTS THE APRIL 27TH, 2011 TORNADO THAT LEVELED HER GRANDPARENTS' HOME CLAIMING THE LIVES OF HER PARENTS, HER PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, AND HER COUSIN JAYDEN HALLMARK.

IT WAS WITHIN THIS TORNADO THAT ARI DESCRIBES SEEING A STAIRCASE TO HEAVEN.

BUT ARI SAW SOMEONE. A WOMAN. TALL, WITH LONG WAVY BLONDE HAIR.

"Oh, my angel."

ARI HAD NEVER SEEN HER. BUT SHE KNEW ARI'S NAME. AND SHE HELD HER HAND.

AT THE TOP OF THE STEPS, ARI DESCRIBES SEEING TWO HUGE DOORS.

"They were really tall and had diamond handles."

AND THE DOORS OPENED. ARI SAW FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAD ALREADY PASSED AWAY. THEN SHE SAW SOMEONE HOLDING HER LITTLE COUSIN JAYDEN.

"WHO WAS HOLDING JAYDEN?"

"Jesus."

AT THAT POINT, THE ANGEL TOOK ARI BACK DOWN. ARI REMEMBERS WAKING UP IN A FIELD NEAR HER GRANDPARENTS' HOME.

"I was just laying there crying for Mommy and Daddy, not knowing what to to."

ENTER DR. LISA REBURN, A FAMILY FRIEND WHO WORKS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA AND WORKS WITH GRIEVING CHILDREN. SHE'S A FAMILY FRIEND WHO BECAME ARI'S MENTOR.

"She had so much detail and was so articulate."

DR. REBURNE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS HEARING WAS A TREASURE. SHE SPECIALIZES IN SETTING UP CURRICULUMS. AND WHAT SHE SET UP FOR ARI WAS "TREASURE BOXES." THAT'S WHAT ARI CALLED THE CASKETS OF HER FAMILY MEMBERS. DR. REBURN FILLED TWO BOXES WITH KEEPSAKES FROM ARI'S FATHER AND MOTHER. THINGS LIKE HER DAD'S WALLET AND GLASSES. PICTURES FROM HER MOTHER.

"CHEWING GUM?"

"That was my mom's favorite."

ONE THING DR. REBURN AND KIM HUNT, ONE OF ARI'S TEACHERS, QUICKLY REALIZED IS THIS COULD HELP COUNTLESS CHILDREN AND ADULTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THAT'S WHY THIS BOOK WAS BORN. IT'S FILLED WITH ARTWORK, ARI'S ARTWORK AND WORDS, AND PHOTOGRAPHS.

"When you hear her talk about this, there's no way it didn't happen. It doesn't matter what I think. It just is. It's something that happened to her. It's very real. There's no way it's not her experience."

SO WHY THE BOOK? BOTH ARI AND DR. REBURN FEEL, IT CAN HELP COUNTLESS OTHERS UNDERSTAND WHAT LIES BEYOND.

"To let me know where they are."

"If you lose somebody close to you, which we all do, to know they went immediately to a whole wonderful place. How can you it not do anything but give you hope?"

HOPE THAT THE "END" IS REALLY JUST A NEW BEGINNING. Return to index of stories...

7AM PKG:CRUTCH MASTER FLEX SHOWS OFF SKILLS-PKG

"So when i started dancing in circles in new york. people started calling me crutch master. and i started using it as my stage name. But then i realized that you never master the crutch. you just die."

THIS IS BILL SHANNON. JUST DON'T CALL HIM THE CRUTCH MASTER.

"We always have our crutches. even if you can't see them. and that's something that people just have. "

SHANNON HAS BILATERAL HIP DEFORMITY, THE RESULT OF A CHILDHOOD ILLNESS. HE RELIES ON A SET OF CRUTCHES TO HELP HIM GET AROUND.

"As a kid you dont treat crutches as some sort of a burden. It's like an extra toy that you carry around.

The history of my technique of dancing evolved out of the demands of play. keeping up with your peers. that kind of thing. survival is what it all gets down to in the end.

Q: And when did you go from survival to performance? When did you make that transition?

They're still the same thing. it's the way i make a living. it's the way i stay happy."

"The left arm with the right foot and the right arm with the left foot. that's the first element of shannon technique"

A PROFESSIONAL STREET ARTIST AND DANCER, SHANNON IS IN LONDON FOR THE LIBERTY FESTIVAL, AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES. ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY COINCIDES WITH THE PARALYMPICS

HE ALSO TEACHES "THE SHANNON TECHNIQUE", A FORM OF DANCING WITH CRUTCHES AND A SKATEBOARD.

HIS ART SOMETIMES CAPITALIZES ON INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS. INCLUDING ME

BS: Like if i dont hold my hand up, the crutch is gone.

BS: you ok?

EM: no, are you ok?

BS: You had to bend over and pick that up. it's hard. that's part of the playfulness of it. that you would help me and then i would help you help me. and then we would have an exchange about that.

"people want to help you. but they really can't help you. someone wants to help you up the stairs. they're not going to throw you over your shoulder and really help you up the stairs. so they're going to come up and maybe and touch your elbow. what their doing is sharing an expression of their shared humanity

q. And so you are playing off that in your performances

a. I am not playing off that. i am receiving it. this isnt prank show. this isnt jack ass. this is life.

q. In doing that what are you saying?

a. I'm not saying anything. i am observing.
