The witness says she had just dropped her nephew off at the bus stop and was driving back when she saw Giovany lying on the ground, with his hand out shaking. He was on his way to the bus stop and crossed this street but troopers say he walked right in the path of an SUV.

it all happened around 6 this morning. FHP says the driver of this suburban tried to swerve to avoid hitting him, but it was too late. The first witness on scene tells us the driver waved her over and she immediately called 911. This was the first time the witness has ever seen Giovany, but as a mom herself, she sprung into action herself making sure Giovany stayed calm. While the witness didn't want to be identified she described to us the moments she was with Giovany until paramedics arrived.

The witness and a family friend tells us Giovany has a broken right femur and received several stitches above his left eye. He was in a lot of pain but is recovering at health park right now.

Our weather has remained pretty nice throughout the afternoon hours, as winds have stayed a bit on the breezy side out of the northeast with gusts in excess of 20 mph. For the rest of the afternoon, Southwest Florida will remain under partly sunny skies with a couple of showers developing closer to the coast throughout the evening.
By sunset, whatever rain develops will have pushed out into the Gulf of Mexico as skies begin to clear across the Peninsula. Overnight, mostly clear conditions will set up as lows settle into the mid 70s with mainly dry weather.
With high pressure to our north and east, winds will remain breezy from time to time tomorrow as they take on more of an easterly component. This will allow for a dry and sunny start to our Thursday with a few hit or miss downpours late in the afternoon and early evening hours. Highs tomorrow will climb to near normal values in the lower 90s.
Not much change is in the forecast as we round out the work week, with the better chance for a showers during the afternoon. More moisture will work its way in across the area by the beginning of next week, with more clouds and a change in our steering winds. This means we could see an early start to our shower and thunderstorm pattern by Monday and Tuesday.

Our weather has remained pretty nice throughout the afternoon hours, as winds have stayed a bit on the breezy side out of the northeast with gusts in excess of 20 mph. For the rest of the afternoon, Southwest Florida will remain under partly sunny skies with a couple of showers developing closer to the coast throughout the evening.
By sunset, whatever rain develops will have pushed out into the Gulf of Mexico as skies begin to clear across the Peninsula. Overnight, mostly clear conditions will set up as lows settle into the mid 70s with mainly dry weather.
With high pressure to our north and east, winds will remain breezy from time to time tomorrow as they take on more of an easterly component. This will allow for a dry and sunny start to our Thursday with a few hit or miss downpours late in the afternoon and early evening hours. Highs tomorrow will climb to near normal values in the lower 90s.
Not much change is in the forecast as we round out the work week, with the better chance for a showers during the afternoon. More moisture will work its way in across the area by the beginning of next week, with more clouds and a change in our steering winds. This means we could see an early start to our shower and thunderstorm pattern by Monday and Tuesday.
