Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
We're tracking a few changes in our Wednesday weather, and the primary one deals with our winds.
We saw a wind shift yesterday with our wind flow coming from the east instead of the west. This change will become even more prevalent today as winds start to ramp up a little, which will produce some breezy conditions through the day. Look for winds to be out of the east northeast around 15 with some gusts up to 20 mph. Also, the winds will produce moderately choppy conditions for our inland waters, and seas will be close to 2 feet.
Our weather will stay mostly dry and sunny this morning, but showers return this afternoon with the best rain chances coming close to the coast and the urban corridor. The rain that develops today will follow the easterly steering flow, moving from east to west. Outside of today's scattered showers, our sky will stay partly sunny, and highs will be in the low 90s. Most of today's storms will move offshore by sunset, setting the stage for a partly cloudy to mostly clear night with lows in the mid to low 70s.
Our weather will stay on cruise control for the next few days with each day featuring partly sunny skies, a stiff easterly breeze, and a scattering of PM showers close to the coast. Highs will be close to average as temperatures peak in the low 90s. Overnight lows will also be fairly seasonable with lows near the mid 70s.
By the upcoming weekend, more moisture will build back over Southwest Florida, adding to the coverage of PM showers and storms.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Nadine has formed in the open Atlantic, but this storm will be no threat to land. Nadine has already started turning northwest and will complete a re-curve to the northeast over the next 5 days. Forecast models don't hint at any more tropical development for the next seven days.

Full Forecast
