As expected we saw more sunshine than yesterday. That's going to translate into a pretty great weekend, too!
The old frontal boundary we've been talking about is finally fading away. It's been meandering around south Florida, the Gulf, and part of the south central U.S. It was the focus for our weather for many days, and it kept the moisture locked in place. Consequently, we saw a lot of clouds and periods of rain.
The weather conditions are improving as a result of the front falling apart.
This weekend looks just fine to be outdoors. Even more sunshine will be available! Our winds are going to be light and from the east. When our winds are from the east and the sea breeze begins - the east wind will pin the sea breeze along the urban corridor. We expect that to happen during the afternoon hours, and that will be the area our storms are concentrated.
Will it be a washout? No, but you will definitely see some heavy rain and hear a rumble of thunder during the late afternoon. It will not hinder any of your plans.
Winds start coming from the south early next week. Monday will be the day of transition, too. Winds from the south-southwest spell out morning showers and interior afternoon storms. This will begin Monday and last through midweek. Simply put - keep the umbrella at hand.
Temperatures will be right around our average this week! Lower 90s are in the forecast.

DID A PROFESSOR GO TOO FAR WHEN SHE BREAST-FED HER BABY IN FRONT OF HER CLASS?
AS CLAIR SHIPMAN REPORTS, THERE'S MIXED REACTION AMONG HER COLLEGE STUDENTS.
Return to index of stories...
The first week of classes at American University, and assistant professor
and busy single mom Adrienne Pine woke up to a one year old daughter with a
fever. Her day care-not an option.
With no emergency sitters on hand, and not wanting to cancel her first
lecture, she brought her infant to work.
SOT ADRIENNE PINE
It wasn't the ideal option but the fact is there were no ideal options and
it was the best of the options available to me
Her baby Lee was fine -- at first. But then she started to fuss and Pine did
what she always does -- at home, on buses, at restaurants: Breast-fed her.
And she continued with her class while she did it.
SOT PINE
People seemed largely charmed, you know by the humanity that I think
children can bring to a workplace environment, without necessarily
detracting from the seriousness
GFX
then she learned of this tweet from one of the students --
Sex, gender, and culture professor, total feminist, walks in with her baby,
midway through class breast feeding time #wtf
And when the school paper got wind of the story, the campus started buzzing
-- offending some students.
MOS SARAH MILES
I think what's inappropriate is that she brought her child to class in the
first place. It's very distracting to a lot of the students.
And others were not --
SOT NIA MCCARTHY
She let us know that she was about to do it, so I wasn't too surprised. I
think she handled it in the most professional way that she could.
SOT MELISSA LAWRENCE, CLOUDMOM
I think that in a situation like this, which is unique and again she wasn't
making a habit of it, we really need to cut her some slack
Pine says she wasn't trying to start a revolution, she was just attempting
to manage, like so many moms do, an untenable situation.
SOT PINE
I'm surprised at the hostility that is clearly aimed at women in the
workplace and women who breast-fed in the workplace in particular
She's hoping, at least, her actions will spark not just controversy, but a
deeper discussion about how wrenching these childcare struggles can be.
especially for people with no cushion.
SOT PINE
can we set up a sort of collective childcare system so that not every single
woman in the workplace is facing these issues as an individual but rather,
we're discussing them together
