Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Drier morning, afternoon storms"
After a wet start to the week, each and every day our weather will continue to improve. A cold front located across north central Florida will remain draped across the Peninsula today, while it weakens and eventually washes out.
Our morning will more than likely start off mostly dry with patchy clouds and temperatures in the middle 70s. With a few more sunnier spells in the forecast this afternoon, highs will be a bit warmer as they climb into the upper 80s to lower 90s.
With plenty of moisture still across the area, a few scattered showers and storms will develop primarily during the afternoon and favor our inland communities as our steering winds remain light out of the southwest.
Tonight, a few lingering showers are possible before our skies begin to clear and lows will settle into the middle 70s under quiet conditions
Friday and into the weekend, easterly flow will return bringing back our sunny and dry mornings with mainly afternoon downpours.
The tropics remain fairly quiet considering we're in the middle of September. Tropical Storm Nadine continues to pack winds of 50mph, while it remains on an easterly path keeping it south of the Azores.

RECENT STORMS IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR A BOATER FROM TEXAS.
JONATHAN PIERCE BROUGHT HIS BOAT IN PUNTA GORDA EARLIER THIS SUMMER.
AND HE'S BEEN SAILING AROUND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA.
WELL, TWO NIGHTS AGO HE PUT HIS ANCHOR DOWN IN WIGGINS PASS TO SPEND THE NIGHT BEFORE HEADING TO FORT MYERS BEACH.
BUT THE STORM CAUSED HIS ANCHOR TO BREAK, AND PUSHED HIM ONTO BONITA BEACH.
A LEE COUNTY DEPUTY CAME AN TALKED TO HIM.
AND SAYS, ONCE THE BOAT IS THERE FOR 24 HOURS THE DEPUTY HAS TO TAG IT AS ABANDONED BECAUSE IT CAN'T STAY ON THE PUBLIC BEACH.
FROM THAT POINT THE OWNER HAS 5 DAYS TO GET IT OFF THE BEACH OR THE COUNTY TAKES POSSESSION.
THE BOAT OWNER IS NOW SCRAMBLING TO GET HIS BOAT OUT BY HIMSELF. AND WE KNOW HE'S TRYING TO GET FRIEND TO HELP HIM OUT.

Weather Trends
