Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Showers and storms will continue making quite the splash across Southwest Florida through our Tuesday.
The soggy, unsettled pattern is the result of a large stream of tropical moisture flowing in from the southwest in advance of an approaching front that will lose steam before making it through Southwest Florida.
We get to experience the wet and stormy side of this weather system, which means we'll continue seeing passing showers and storms through the day. Like yesterday, there will be many dry periods in between the downpours as they work from south to north, so the entire day won't be a complete washout. Just prepare for the possibility of the sky going from sunshiny to showery rather quickly with so much moisture around.
Some of the today's rain will be quite heavy with some downpours even packing some lightning and gusty winds. Areas that get hit multiples times by these showers will see the potential of getting more than an inch or two of rain.
Outside of today's showers, we'll see breezy conditions with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will start out in the upper 70s and low 80s this morning and then peak in the mid to upper 80s during the afternoon.
Even during the overnight hours , showers will continue roaming across the area, and clouds will keep cluttering our sky.
Wednesday will be another wet one, too, with our rain chances staying close to 70%.
In fact, it doesn't look like we'll get much of a break from the rain until Thursday, but even then showers and storms will be in our forecast. The difference is instead of getting rain in the morning and afternoon, showers will mainly hold off until the afternoon and evening. We'll also notice more sunshine and warmer temperatures.
This will be the way our weather stays as we head into the weekend, too, when we'll start our days with sunny, mostly dry conditions until showers and storms fire up during the afternoon and evening.

Full Forecast
