IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Dry, stable air is in the process of filtering into Southwest Florida, which will work to drastically lower our rain chances for the next several days.
Instead of tracking those afternoon showers and storms, we'll just be tracking sunshine and a few fair-weather clouds. By tonight and Thursday, we'll even get a break from the oppressively high humidity we've endured for the last several months.
Here's how our Monday breaks down. In a few areas , we'll start out with some patchy fog. Otherwise, we'll begin with a mostly clear sky and temperatures in the mid to low 70s. Sunshine will basically dominate our sky through the day with just some patchy clouds expected to float through during the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will peak in the upper 80s to near 90.
Our sky stays clear tonight as humidity levels start a modest descent. The lowering humidity combined with a clear sky and northerly wind will support low temperatures near 70 by early Thursday, and many locations may even cool to the upper 60s, especially inland.
The subtle drop in humidity will carry over into Thursday, making the air feel slightly more comfortable. Temperatures will still be rather warm, too, with daytime highs mainly in the upper 80s. A refreshing breeze will set up out of the east northeast from 5-15 mph, and we may even get gusts in the 20-25 mph range.
Thursday night will likely be the coolest as temperatures area wide dip into the upper 60. The urban corridor will be closer to upper 60s while the more rural settings cool to the middle 60s.
The beautiful weather also rolls along into Friday and Saturday. Both days will feature mainly sunny skies and dry conditions with highs in the upper 80s.
By Sunday, there should be enough moisture coming in with the easterly winds to produce a few hit-or-miss showers, but even then, most spots will stay dry.
Enjoy this stretch of dry, sunny, and slightly cooler weather! It looks like a hint of autumn will be in our air for the next few days.

DECHERT'S MACULAR DEGENERATION WAS PAST THE POINT WHERE DRUGS COULD HELP. BUT INSTEAD OF SUFFERING THROUGH IT, HE DECIDED TO ENTER A CLINICAL TRIAL FOR AN IMPLANTABLE DEVICE THAT COULD POSSIBLY HELP HIM SEE BETTER.
"The device if you think. just as a telescope, it's essentially miniaturized and small enough so we can implant it directly into the eye."
THE EYE TELESCOPE MAGNIFIES VISION IN ONE EYE, SO PATIENTS CAN USE THAT EYE TO SEE OBJECTS MORE CLEARLY.
BUT THERE IS A TRADE OFF. IT ALSO TAKES AWAY THE PERIPHERAL VISION IN THAT EYE, SO PATIENTS NEED TO USE THE OTHER EYE TO SEE OBJECTS AROUND THEM.
DR. DANIEL BERINSTEIN IS AN OPHTHALMOLOGIST.
"Patients need to realize this is not a cure. But we're really trying to maximize the vision that they have."
IT TAKES MONTHS, EVEN YEARS, OF TRAINING TO FULLY LEARN TO USE THE IMPLANT. IN FACT, PATIENTS WILL OFTEN SEE DOUBLE AT FIRST SINCE EACH EYE SEES IMAGES IN A DIFFERENT WAY.
DECHERT SAYS NOW THAT HE'S USED TO THE DEVICE, HE'S STILL LEGALLY BLIND, BUT HIS VISION HAS IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY.
HE CAN WORK WITH HIS TOOLS.
.AND EVEN READ USING A MAGNIFYING GLASS.
"A lot of little things that i said i'd never do, I found that I could do if I worked at it hard enough."
