Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Breezy sunshine, rain free"
Yesterday's official reading at Page Field was 69°. This marked the first time that temperatures dipped into the 60s since the middle of May.
Our hint of Autumn weather will continue once again this morning, as temperatures will be a few points lower. Along the urban corridor, expect a refreshing start to the day as numbers hover in the upper 60s, with a few middle 60s on the thermometer across our inland and northern cool spots.
Friday will dawn bright and sunny with the dry weather pattern prevailing as we round out the work week. Breezes will be out of the northeast between 10-15 mph with higher gusts and that will keep the slightly drier air pouring into Southwest Florida. Highs will eventually warm quickly into the upper 80s, however with lower humidity levels, our afternoon will feel quite comfy.
A few fair weather clouds will dot the sky late in the day, however with a dry and stable atmosphere rain prospects remain slim to none. Mostly clear skies along with lighter winds, will translate into another cool night as overnight lows range from the mid to upper 60s by morning.
A quiet weather pattern will stay in place through the weekend, with a few more clouds pushing in as an easterly flow develops by Sunday. This will bring an influx of some moisture across the Peninsula resulting in the chance for an afternoon stray/isolated shower. Otherwise much of next week, looks mainly dry and warm with highs in the upper 80s to near 90°.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Patty evolved yesterday morning and will be no threat to Southwest Florida. This will be a short lived system as it gets entangled with some drier air and some strong upper level wind shear. Another disturbance nearing the Lesser Antilles seems to be a bit more organized this morning, however most of the forecast models suggest that this will turn to the north and not be a concern for the US mainland.

Weather Trends
