THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
We've enjoyed three days in a row with comfortable humidity and incredibly low rain chances, but we'll have to make a few tweaks to our Sunday forecast.
Some Atlantic moisture will work across the peninsula and build into Southwest Florida today, produce a few more clouds and bringing back the chance for a passing afternoon shower. Our rain chance will still be pretty low, ranging from 20-30%, but at least a few isolated showers are worth mentioning during the second half of our Sunday.
Aside from a few hit-or-miss showers, we'll enjoy a mix of sun and clouds during the afternoon with our highs close to 90. The breeze will also stay fairly strong through the day with winds out of the east between 5-10 and gusts up to 20 mph.
Another change we'll notice today is an uptick in humidity. While we don't expect to get back to the oppressive summertime humidity levels, the air won't be quite as pleasant as what we've experience for the last few days.
We'll also see a momentary end to low in the upper 60s. Even though our sky will stay mostly clear through tonight, temperatures will only manage to cool into the low to mid 70s.
Monday will be very similar. Our sky will become partly cloudy during the afternoon, and a few showers will pop up as well. Overall, our rain chance will be close to 20-30%, so most spots will stay dry.
The good news for those of us who got used to the lower humidity and lows in the upper 60s is we expect to get another dose of dry air Tuesday. This dry air should considerably lower humidity and rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday, and by Wednesday morning, we should see temperatures return the mid to upper 60s.
Signs point to an even stronger cool front making it to Southwest Florida by the upcoming weekend, so this is something we'll be tracking closely throughout the week. Before the cool front arrives, it looks like scattered rain will be possible Thursday and Friday before the slightly cooler and less humid air arrives by the end of the week.

THE THOUSANDS OF WOMEN TREATED FOR BREAST CANCER MAY BE LEFT WITH MORE THAN EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL SCARS.

WHEN SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER, MARY MARGARET THOMAS WAS AN ACTIVE MOTHER OF THREE YOUNG CHILDREN.
Even though I felt that I was going to get beyond breast cancer, what was my life going to be like after that treatment had ended?
IMPAIRMENTS THAT ARE COMMON AFTER TREATMENT FOR BREAST CANCER INCLUDE:
-PAIN
-RESTRICTED RANGE OF MOTION
-LYMPHEDEMA- CHARACTERIZED BY ARM, BREAST OR CHEST SWELLING
-AND WEAKNESS
THOMAS SOUGHT OUT REHABILITATION RIGHT AFTER HER FIRST SURGERY.
Rehab has been shown in clinical studies to be effecting in treating many of those side effects of treatment. We can really bring a woman's range of motion back.
THE GOAL FOR PATIENTS? RETURN TO THE LIFESTYLE THEY HAD BEFORE CANCER.
In the past, we weren't focused on referring patients as aggressively to rehab as we are today. With early intervention, we can have a woman go back to her normal quality of life -- with excellent range of motion, minimal swelling of her arm, and any other effects that surgery or radiation might cause.
ALTHOUGH SHE HAS SYMPTOMS THAT COME AND GO, THOMAS HAS RETURNED TO BEING ACTIVE -- BOATING AND KAYAKING WITH HER FAMILY.
That is something that really completes the cure for me.

IT SEEMS LIKE WE JUST KEEP SPENDING MORE AND MORE MONEY ON THINGS AND SHAVING IS NO EXCEPTION.
YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED THE PRICE OF RAZER BLADES IS GOING UP.

"It is true that there are some expensive materials in razor blades like titanium and 440 c steel."
PROFESSOR EMERITUS FRED ZIMMERMAN STUDIED MANUFACTURING FOR YEARS.
HE SAYS ALTHOUGH, MATERIALS LIKE TITANIUM CAN COST UP TO 20 DOLLARS A POUND, THE GREATER REASON RAZOR BLADES ARE SO EXPENSIVE IS A LACK OF COMPETITION.
"Now Proctor and Gamble owns Gillette, there's really only a couple of companies that produce razor blades."
HE SAYS IT ESSENTIALLY ALLOWS MANUFACTURERS TO NAME THEIR PRICE.
"This is my grandpas, it's his straight edge."
IT USED TO BE YOU COULD BUY A STRAIGHT EDGE… STRAIGHT UP.
"With a belt you'd shimmy it like so."
…SHARPEN IT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND YOU'D BE SET.
BUT EVEN, THE CLOSE SHAVE AT FLOYD'S BARBERSHOP IS NOW DONE FOR SAFETY REASONS WITH A DISPOSABLE BLADE.

ERIC JOHNSRUD SAYS ITS ABOUT 10 BUCKS FOR THE BAG AND IT LASTS HIM A MONTH.
RAZOR BLADES HAVE BECOME SO EXPENSIVE A YOUTUBE VIDEO FOR A CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE HAS GONE VIRAL.
MIKE DUBIN'S COMMERCIAL HAS MORE THAN 6 MILLION HITS.
THE PREMISE IS SIMPLE.
YOU PAY A MONTHLY FEE AND YOU RECEIVE A MONTH'S WORTH OF RAZOR BLADES.
DUBIN SAYS IT'S A HIGH QUALITY RAZOR, THEY JUST CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN AND MARKETING TO KEEP COSTS LOWER.
"It's razor vs laser."
THERE ARE SOME WHO JUST DON'T EVEN DEAL WITH IT ANYMORE.
"A beam of light is going after the root of the hair."
LASER HAIR REMOVAL MAY BE MORE COMMON WITH WOMEN AND THEIR LEGS, BUT IT'S NOT ENTIRELY UNCOMMON FOR MEN AND THEIR FACES.
CHRIS CAIRL SAYS THE PROCEDURE TAKES SEVERAL TREATMENTS AND WOULD COST ABOUT 3000 DOLLARS FOR A FACE. ROUGHLY SIX YEARS WORTH OF BLADES.
BUT YOU WOULD NEVER HAVE TO SHAVE AGAIN, WHICH THEN AGAIN COULD BE A DOWNSIDE.
"Say you wanted to have a goatee later or something you would be making a permanent decision to let that go… or mustache."

TYPE THE WORDS "COMPLETELY WRONG" INTO A GOOGLE SEARCH, AND SEE WHAT POPS UP FOR IMAGES -- A SLEW OF PHOTOS OF REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE MITT ROMNEY.
GOOGLE SAYS IT'S NOT INTENTIONAL, AND IS SIMPLY THE RESULT OF NORMAL SEARCH ALGORITHMS.
ATHENA JONES SPOKE WITH AN EXPERT ABOUT WHAT'S BEHIND IT, AND PAST EXAMPLES AFFECTING PRESIDENTS AND PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES.
Return to index of stories...
GOOGLE; YAHOO; BING.
SEARCH ENGINES ARE A PART OF MODERN LIFE.
THE TOP RISING SEARCHES DURING THE VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE WERE: "BIDEN", "CONFLATING", "MALARKEY" AND "WHO IS WINNING THE DEBATE?"
IT'S A WINDOW INTO THE MINDS OF MILLIONS OF WEB USERS.
But search engines can also raise eyebrows. For instance, when you type "completely wrong" into a Google image search, you get a whole lot of pictures of Mitt Romney.
GOOGLE SAYS THE GALLERY OF PHOTOS WAS UNINTENTIONAL.
ITS ALGORITHMS SIMPLY PICKED UP ON NEWS COVERAGE OF ROMNEY'S OWN DESCRIPTION OF HIS "47 PERCENT" REMARKS.
WE SAW A SIMILAR TREND ON BING AND YAHOO -- BUT TO A LESSER DEGREE.
For a search engine. they really rely on the words that are around an image to understand what it's about. If you put a picture of Mitt Romney beside words that say "completely wrong" then they say, I guess this is relevant for "completely wrong."
STILL, SOMETIMES IT'S INTENTIONAL.
THESE ARE CALLED "GOOGLE BOMBS".
IN THE MID-2000s, PRANKSTERS CREATED LINKS THAT CAUSED A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR THE WORDS "MISERABLE FAILURE" TO PUT PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH AT THE TOP OF THE RESULTS PAGE.
GOOGLE LATER TWEAKED ITS ANALYTICS TO LIMIT THE PRACTICE.
INTENTIONAL OR NOT, A SEARCH FOR THE PHRASE "DEBATE FAIL" BRINGS UP IMAGES OF PRESIDENT OBAMA; BUT ALSO OF PEOPLE LIKE ROMNEY, GOVERNOR RICK PERRY AND ONE-TIME PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL JOHN KERRY.
AND SPEAKING OF KERRY, WHO WAS ACCUSED OF FLIP FLOPPING ON ISSUES, CONSERVATIVE BLOGGERS MANAGED TO PUSH HIS CAMPAIGN WEBSITE TO THE TOP OF GOOGLE SEARCHES FOR THE WORD "WAFFLES".
Is this just a modern reality and candidates are powerless to stop it?
One of the best things they can do to protect themselves is to make sure they have multiple websites that are about themselves officially.
THE GOOD NEWS: SEARCH RESULTS USUALLY FADE OVER TIME.
