THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Thursday will bring more sunshine and drier weather"
Our Wednesday was filled with more clouds than sunshine, which kept temperatures slightly cooler today in the middle 80s. Some changes will be in the forecast for our Thursday as the clouds move out and the sunshine moves back in.
For the rest of our Wednesday, clouds will continue to thicken up across Southwest Florida with a few scattered downpours mainly east of I75. The rain will certainly not be widespread, and most of the activity should diminish as we head past sunset. Tonight, clouds will linger across Southwest Florida with a couple of leftover showers as lows settle into the lower 70s by morning.
Our Thursday, will start off with a few patchy clouds, but will offer more sunshine through the day as the clouds and moisture exit to our east and our atmosphere begins to dry out a bit. Mostly sunny skies will dominate with a mainly dry weather pattern with highs closing in on the upper 80s. Partly sunny skies will continue through our Friday, but with just enough moisture an isolated shower or two can't be ruled out during the afternoon and early evening hours.
The remnants of a weak front will wash out across Southwest Florida on Saturday continuing the chance for a couple of showers and storms. High pressure building in across the southeast and mid Atlantic states will be in control of our weather through the early part of the week, with mostly to partly sunny skies and temperatures in the middle to upper 80s as rain prospects remain next to none.
In the tropics, all is quiet for now with the exception of Hurricane Rafael. Rafael will be heading toward the north Atlantic through this evening and should become an extratropical cyclone later this evening and into tomorrow.

Richard roland, fitzgeralds icu doctor
14:14:05 "I was quite shocked. My first comment was 'you did what?' His response was 'yes we've been having good luck with these procedures.' 15
Dr richard roland is talking about a call he got from bonita springs cardiologist zannos grekos in 2010.
Grekos had just performed a stem cell procedure on his patient domenica fitgerald-- Something went wrong.
Roland: 14:27:41 "I had concerns that this was criminal."
Fitzgeralds family says the breast cancer survivor was looking for a cure for nerve damage caused by chemotherapy. They say grekos gave her false hope.
He infused bone marrow from fitzgeralds pelvis into her brain at his bonita springs office. She later died.
The medical examiner who performed fitzgeralds autopsy testified that her death was related to stem cell treatment she received.
Manfred borges, collier medical examiner
14:49:51 "following the bone marrow transfusion stopped receiving oxygen and infarted, died."
The state argues that grekos was negligent and committed medical malpractice by performing a procedure that has no medical value.
A stem cell expert testifying for the defense says the therapy isn't experimental, he says it's backed by credible evidence.
Todd McAllister, cytograft tissue engineering
14:58:28 This was not a purely experimental procedure, it was innovative.35
58:49 it's certainly not mainstream medical care, I think we all agree on that, but there's vast evidence in scientific literature to suggest that stem cells may be an appropriate treatment for these types of degenerative diseases 05."
The defense argues fitzgerald knew the risks and signed an informed consent form.
