6:12 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Full Forecast

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.After seeing clear, radiant skies Tuesday and absolutely no rain, our Wednesday forecast will feature some changes.

The first change we'll notice is with cloud cover. We're tracking a large area of clouds in the northern Gulf of Mexico this morning, and a large portion of this cloud shield will be aimed at the Florida peninsula. Even though we'll start the day with a fair amount of sunshine, we expect our sky to cloud up considerably as the day goes along. By midday, most spots will only be treated to partial sunshine as clouds continue to fill in from the west.

The next side effect we'll notice from this increasing moisture is a better chance of rain. Rain won't be incredibly widespread today, but showers will develop in scattered fashion during the afternoon. With the steering flow predominantly out of the west, the bulk of today's showers will be focused inland. However, that's not to say we can't get a little rain close to the coast as well.

With all the cloud cover that's expected to fill our sky later in the day, temperatures will struggle to warm much past the middle 80s. In fact, most places should see high temperatures around 84-85 during the afternoon.

The rain that develops during the afternoon and evening will gradually fade through tonight, but clouds should linger a bit longer. By Thursday morning, sunshine will return to Southwest Florida, and it should be here to stay for several days.

Thursday and Friday will be pleasant, sunny days with highs in the upper 80s and early morning lows near 70. We may very well have enough moisture in place both days to squeeze out a couple isolated showers, but these should primarily be inland.

The upcoming weekend is looking fairly sunny quiet with the exception of an isolated shower or storm Saturday. Sunday will likely be drier with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Return to index of stories...

DEBATE MORNING AFTER-PKG

PKG SCRIPT:

Just 45 seconds into his first answer, the President went after his opponent

.

SOT OBAMA

"GOVERNOR ROMNEY SAID WE SHOULD LET DETROIT GO BANKRUPT."

But Mitt Romney pushed right back.

SOT ROMNEY

"THE PRESIDENT TOOK DETROIT BANKRUPT. YOU TOOK GENERAL MOTORS BANKRUPT. YOU

TOOK CHRYSLER BANKRUPT. SO WHEN YOU SAY THAT I WANTED TO TAKE THE AUTO

INDUSTRY BANKRUPT, YOU ACTUALLY DID."

And that's the way it was much of the night.

SOT -

ROMNEY: "HAVE YOU LOOKED AT YOUR PENSION?

OBAMA: "I'VE GOT TO SAY."

ROMNEY: "MR. PRESIDENT, HAVE YOU LOOKED AT YOUR PENSION?"

OBAMA: "YOU KNOW, I -- I DON'T LOOK AT MY PENSION. IT'S NOT AS BIG AS YOURS,

SO IT DOESN'T TAKE AS LONG."

The Republican challenger told President Obama that the middle class has

been crushed over the past four years.

SOT ROMNEY

"WHAT YOU'RE SEEING IN THIS COUNTRY IS 23-MILLION PEOPLE STRUGGLING TO FIND

A JOB. / THE PRESIDENT'S POLICIES HAVE BEEN EXERCISED OVER THE LAST FOUR

YEARS AND THEY HAVEN'T PUT AMERICANS BACK TO WORK."

It took more than an hour for the debate to turn to foreign policy.

But once it did, the candidates bitterly argued about the administration's

handling of last month's attack in Libya that killed four Americans,

including the U-S Ambassador.

SOT -

ROMNEY: "I WANT TO MAKE SURE WE GET THAT FOR THE RECORD, BECAUSE IT TOOK THE

PRESIDENT 14 DAYS BEFORE HE CALLED THE ATTACK IN BENGHAZI AN ACT OF TERROR.

"

OBAMA: "GET THE TRANSCRIPT."

CROWLEY: "IT -- IT -- HE DID IN FACT, SIR. SO LET ME -- LET ME CALL IT AN

ACT OF TERROR."

OBAMA: "CAN YOU SAY THAT A LITTLE LOUDER, CANDY?"

CROWLEY: "HE DID CALL IT AN ACT OF TERROR."

And the President finally brought up the infamous 47% comment in his closing

statement.

SOT OBAMA

"WHEN HE SAID BEHIND CLOSED DOORS THAT 47-PERCENT OF THE COUNTRY CONSIDERED

THEMSELVES VICTIMS, WHO REFUSE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, THINK ABOUT WHO HE

WAS TALKING ABOUT." Return to index of stories...

6:42 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Weather Trends
