Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"More sunshine, less rain"
More clouds than sunshine dominated our skies yesterday, and Thursday will bring some changes to our weather pattern.
The upper level disturbance responsible for the mostly cloudy skies and scattered downpours continues to move out this morning. We'll start the day with a few patchy clouds and even some areas of fog, especially for those that saw the rain yesterday evening.
As that moisture pushes eastbound, some drier air in the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere will sink its way across the peninsula. This means more sunshine is in store for today, and as a result temperatures will get a boost back into the upper 80s. With some residual moisture, we can't rule out a couple of isolated showers, however the vast majority of Southwest Florida should stay dry.
Tonight, clearing skies will prevail and lows will dip into the low 70s with a few upper 60s north and inland.
Our Friday will consist of partly sunny skies and the chance for a couple of showers, as a weak cool front approaches North Florida. This front will eventually wash out across the state by Saturday leaving us with partly sunny skies and highs in the middle to upper 80s. High pressure will build in across the southeast states, bringing pleasant conditions Sunday with plenty of sunshine and even a dip in our humidity levels. Our sunny weather pattern will persist through early next week with rain prospects remaining slim to none.

Full Forecast
