It is a bizarre new clue a small wooden cross police believe belongs to
Jessica Ridgeway's killer.
NATS - TREVOR MATERASSO / 22:48:10 IT LOOKS LIKE A
SOLID PIECE OF WOOD.
Overnight investigators released new photos of the cross hoping someone
recognizes it. The cross was found at one of the crime scenes in the case
but police won't say which one because that is information only the killer
knows.
SOT - TREVOR MATERASSO / WESTMINSTER POLICE DEPARTMENT / 224306 WE BELIEVE
THAT IT WAS LEFT BEHIND OR DROPPED BY SOMEBODY THAT WAS INVOLVED AND KNOWS
INFORMATION THAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR. CLAYTON: LEFT INTENTIONALLY PERHAPS?
TREVOR - IT POTENTIALLY WAS LEFT INTENTIONALLY.
Jessica vanished October fifth as she walked to school. Hundreds of
volunteers scoured the area around her Westminster Colorado home but found
no sign of the fifth grader. Two days later her backpack was left
conspicuously on a sidewalk in a neighborhood about seven miles away. A few
days after that Jessica's dismembered body was discovered in a field.
SOT - LEE BIRK, WESTMINSTER POLICE CHIEF / OCTOBER 12 / "WE RECOGNIZE THERE
IS A PREDATOR AT LARGE IN OUR COMMUNITY."
Police are now looking into an attempted abduction Memorial Day weekend at
this lake near Jessica's home. A female jogger was grabbed by a man who
tried to put a rag over her mouth. The woman got away.
SOT - TREVOR MATERASSO / 224549 IT'S FAIRLY CLOSE TO WHERE JESSICA WAS
ABDUCTED AND NEAR WHERE HER BODY WAS FOUND.
The cross has three distinct marks on one side and what appears to be an "S"
on the other.
SOT - TREVOR MATERASSO / 224234 ARE THEY GOING TO PROVIDE INFORMATION WHICH
WILL POTENTIALLY LEAD TO THE KILLER AND POTENTIALLY UNCOVER WHAT INFORMATION
WE NEED TO LOCATE THIS PERSON AND GET HIM OFF THE STREETS.
Now police are crossing their fingers that this will be the break that leads
to justice for Jessica. For Good Morning America, Clayton Sandell ABC

"SHANTELL"
TCT - 00:01:34:00
Shantell, looking for a Forever Family: My name is Shantell and I am 12 years old.
Lanecia Radcliff: She is a great girl. She is very sweet a teen-age girl. Who just was in foster care too long.
Gia Tutolo-Mote, Forever Family: We meet up with her at Dolphin Island Care where she got to live the experience of a lifetime!
Shantell: It was fun I liked to swim with the dolphins. And see the sea lion, seeing all the animals. They are smart and they are cute and they listen very well. They know what to do. The driving test with the dolphins in the water it was fun. I felt like I was actually driving a car.
Gia: She may not be ready to drive a car for another 4 years, but she needs a family now, who share in this milestone and a lifetime of achievement.
Lanecia: Shantell has a sister Xena. Their relationship is really important.
Shantell: My sister Xena she is 15 years old. We have a very close relationship. We do a lot of things together. Some things we do separate. She is more the girly girl type; I am more the tomboy type. I like to be outside playing sports, I like football seems fun it is very active. I want to be a member of a SWAT team, like a police officer. It seems interesting.
Gia: Shantell and Xena need a family… a mom who'll help them grow.
Lanecia: Mother roll is very important for both Shantell and Xena. So that would be great for them. And we will also consider other types of couples.
Shantell: They are like there, when I need them. They are playful and everything. They don't ignore me.

SPECTACULAR SATURDAY AHEAD
The last seven days have simply been hot and humid. That's going to change.
Dry air is beginning to spill in from the north and it's going to have a very big impact on your day. Not only will it have an impact on your day today, but it'll have an impact on your week ahead!
Today will be mostly sunny and for the most part dry. Highs will be getting to 88 degrees, and it'll be a great day to go to the beach, boating, or even hit the course to go golf.
It gets better from there!
Sunday through Friday will be sunny, less humid, and highs will be in the mid 80s.
What could get better? Well, your morning lows will be in the lower to mid 60s! I wouldn't even be surprised if some of us see an upper 50!
How refreshing.

SCRIPT:
Nat/applause
Lance Armstrong took the stage in Austin to a standing ovation of his most
faithful supporters and donors.
SOT: Lance Armstrong:
It's been an interesting couple of weeks. It's been a difficult couple of
weeks./ I've been better and I've also been worse.
On the heels of perhaps the most epic fall from grace any sporting hero has
endured, Armstrong addressed Livestrong's 15th Anniversary Celebration
without a sorry, without an explanation, without any of the words so many
are so desperate to hear.
SOT Lance Armstrong:
This mission is bigger than me. It's bigger than any individual.
In many ways, the star studded event was almost like a goodbye party-coming
just as a pile of sponsors from Nike to Trek have dropped Armstrong-and as
he announced that he's stepping down as Chairman of his own foundation.
SOT Doug Ulman / Livestrong CEO
"He's our founder. He's been the inspiration for these people. His cancer
journey led to this place. To have him here is phenomenal."
Even among Armstrong's most ardent supporters, there was concern.
SOT Julie Armstrong / Supporter
"It's been kind of a bitter-sweet time I think but Livestrong is gonna
Livestrong."
The day began with another uncomfortable revelation.
Armstrong's ex-wife Kristin, who according to the US Anti Doping
Agency was in on the drug use and even called the blood booster EPO "butter"
because they kept it hidden in the butter-wrote a blog post, damaging by
what it didn't say.
There are many things that I am not free to discuss because I am constrained
by legal principles like.non-disclosure agreements, she wrote. His
choices were, and are, his. And mine are mine. And they haven't always been
pretty. I am sorry if this is disappointing to you.
At the Livestrong event, those hoping to hear an apology were met by the
kind of sign off that gives no indication one is even remotely in the works.
NAT: Let's have a hell of a good time tonight. thank you.
For Good Morning America, Neal Karlinksy, ABCNews Seattle.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
As for the tropics - there's no formidable storms to talk about.
