Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Sunny and Breezy
Your Monday morning starts with pleasantly cool weather in place. Through the day today, we'll see lots of sunshine. If you liked yesterday, you'll probably like the next few days. With dry air in place, our temperatures easily cool down at night and heat up through the day. Highs this afternoon will reach into the upper 80s. A breeze from the east-northeast will give some relief from the warm weather this afternoon. We'll continue with mainly sunny, warm and breezy weather for the next few days. Overnight temperatures will stay comfortable in the 60s.
In the tropics, there is an area of low pressure that is likely to develop soon south of Jamaica. The National Hurricane Center is giving it an 80% chance for development in the next 48 hours. An air force reconnaissance plane will investigate it this afternoon if necessary. This system is likely to bring heavy rain, and lots of it, to Jamaica, Hispaniola and eastern Cuba. Flooding will be a concern, especially in the mountainous terrain of eastern Cuba. Right now, models are in pretty good agreement that this system is likely to move toward the north and not be a threat to Southwest Florida. We'll be tracking it, though, and will keep you updated.

-REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--
THE ECONOMY IS STILL THE TOP ISSUE FOR VOTERS. BUT WITH TROOPS STILL IN AFGHANISTAN, UNREST IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND CONCERN ABOUT IRAN GAINING A NUCLEAR WEAPONS CAPABILITY, FOREIGN POLICY MATTERS TO AMERICANS.
People want to know they have a strong, steady hand in the Oval Office and they don't want someone who's reckless and who's been consistently wrong on foreign policy issues as Governor Romney has.
MITT ROMNEY'S SUPPORTERS SAY THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS WEAK ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS, AS DEMONSTRATED MOST RECENTLY IN ITS EVER CHANGING EXPLANATION OF WHAT LED TO THE SEPTEMBER 11TH ATTACK ON THE U-S CONSULATE IN LIBYA AND THE LACK OF SECURITY THERE.
If we can't figure out what went on in the relatively open city in a country we helped liberate, why do we think we know what's going on with the Iranian nuclear program? And I think you can go country by country and see sort of the fray at the edges of the Obama policy.
ROMNEY SAYS HE WILL OFFER MORE SUPPORT TO ANTI-REGIME FORCES IN SYRIA, AND WILL TAKE A TOUGHER STANCE AGAINST CHINA.
On day one I will label China a currency manipulator.
PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL LIKELY REMIND VOTERS THAT HE ORDERED THE RAID IN WHICH AL QAEDA LEADER OSAMA BIN LADEN WAS KILLED, ENDED THE WAR IN IRAQ AND HAS BEGUN PULLING TROOPS OUT OF AFGHANISTAN.

Full Forecast
