5:02 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

In the wake of Tuesday's cool front, another wave of weather changes is in the works across Southwest Florida this Wednesday.

Breezy northwesterly winds will usher in the cool, dry air as we go through the day, holding our daytime highs in the low to mid 70s. The stiff northwesterly flow will lead to a pretty windy day, too, with winds ranging from 5-15 mph with some gusts around 20-25 mph.

We'll notice a lot more sunshine today compared to Tuesday's mostly grey sky, but look for some patchy clouds to build in off the Gulf as the cool air interacts with the warmer water of the Gulf.

Another difference today will be the change in humidity. The cool, dry air flow from the north will work to make the air less and less humid as the day wears on, and this trend will continue into the night.

A chill returns the air tonight as temperatures cool into the mid to low 50s across much of urban Southwest Florida. The exception will be close to the coast, where a wind flow off the gulf should prevent lows from dropping beyond the low 60s. Deeper inland, we'll see the potential for some upper 40s in the more rural settings.

Thursday will be another cool and refreshing day, but with a lot more sunshine. Highs should struggle to get out of the upper 60s, making Thursday one of the coolest days we've seen thus far. Thursday night will follow suit with most spots expected to dip in the low 50s closer to the coast and mid 40s inland.

Temperatures will start to warm up a bit by Friday as daytime highs return to the upper 70s.

The weekend is also shaping up to be another dandy, featuring a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the low 80s, and a nice easterly breezy.

Rain chances look to stay quite low through the next 7 days, but we may get enough Atlantic moisture moving in early next week to produce a few sprinkles. Return to index of stories...

BLOOMBERG BUSINESS REPORT

NOVEMBER 7, 2012

*****

GOOD MORNING,

YOU KNOW, UNTIL LAST NIGHT -- NO PRESIDENT HAD WON RE-ELECTION WITH CONSUMER CONFIDENCE SO LOW --

SINCE RICHARD NIXON, IN 1972!

HOW DID PRESIDENT OBAMA DEFY THE ODDS?

WELL, EVEN THOUGH CONSUMER CONFIDENCE IS LOW -- IT *IS* IMPROVING RAPIDLY.

AND ALSO -- DROPS IN UNEMPLOYMENT IN SOME KEY STATES, INCLUDING FLORIDA, ALSO HELPING.

ANOTHER KEY STATE -- OHIO --A STATE SEEN AS NECESSARY FOR A REPUBLICAN VICTORY.

THE JOBLESS RATE THERE, IMPROVING *FAR MORE* THAN IT HAS NATIONWIDE, THANKS TO THE AUTO, AND OIL AND GAS-DRILLING INDUSTRIES.

BUT -- NOW THAT HE'S WON --

PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL NEED TO ADDRESS THE SO-CALLED "FISCAL CLIFF" AS SOON AS POSSIBLE --

WITH MORE THAN 600-BILLION DOLLARS IN TAX INCREASES AND SPENDING CUTS GOING INTO EFFECT NEXT YEAR UNLESS A REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED HOUSE AND DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED SENATE CAN REACH A BUDGET COMPROMISE.

STOCKS BY THE WAY, SURGING YESTERDAY -- AS VOTERS HEADED TO THE POLLS AND INVESTORS WATCHED TO SEE IF A CLEAR WINNER WOULD EMERGE.

AND -- COMING UP AFTER THIS -- THE BLACK FRIDAY DEALS, ARE STARTING TO LEAK OUT.

OC:

MORE PROBLEMS FOR AIR TRAVELERS.

UNITED CONTINENTAL AND AMERICAN AMONG THE AIRLINES SUSPENDING MOST FLIGHTS TO AND FROM THE NEW YORK AREA STARTING LATER TODAY S -- AS A WINTER STORM THREATENS THE COAST ALREADY HARD HIT, BY HURRICANE SANDY.

ELECTION WRAP UP-PKG

President Barack Obama won a second term Tuesday after a race that was

primarily fought in just a handful of battleground states.

SOT OBAMA

You the American people reminded us that while our road has been hard,

while our journey has been long we have picked ourselves up, we have fought

our way back and we know in our hearts for the u.s. of America the best is

yet to come

Florida is still too close to call, but even if Romney won the state, Obama

still handily beats him in the Electoral College vote. The popular vote will

likely be closer.

SOT OBAMA

Whether I earned your vote or not, I have listened to you, I have learned

from you and you have made me a better president.

Obama beat Republican Challenger Mitt Romney after nabbing almost every one

of the 12 crucial battleground states.

Around 1 am Eastern, Romney spoke to supporters in Boston.to let them know

he had made a concession call to the President.

SOT ROMNEY

I just called President Obama to congratulate him on his victory. His

supporters and his campaign also deserve congratulations.

The former Massachusetts governor said it was time to put aside partisan

bickering and work together for the good of the country.

SOT ROMNEY

This is a time of great challenges for America and I pray that the President

will be successful in guiding our nation Return to index of stories...

5:32 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
