LEE COUNTY COMMISSIONER BRIAN BIGELOW-IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Nat bigelow 02:01 "I'm going to follow the advice of my lawyer and consult with him until then I guess I'm just not going to make a comment."
IT'S NOT FOR ANY DECISION HE MADE IN COMMISSION,
BUT INSTEAD-
WHAT HE ALLEGEDLY DID IN THE TICE COMMUNITY, AT WHAT DEPUTIES CALL A KNOWN DRUG HOUSE-
WITH AN 18 YEAR-OLD.
Nat cars
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, LEE COUNTY DETECTIVES SAY THEY WERE WATCHING A SUSPECTED DRUG HOUSE ON IONE AVENUE, WHEN THEY SPOTTED BIGELOW'S CAR PULL INTO THE DRIVEWAY.
THEY SAY THEY WATCHED A POSSIBLE DEAL GO DOWN --
THEN STOPPED THE CAR.
IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS DAVID HENLEY,
AND HIS PASSENGER- COMMISSIONER BIGELOW.
DEPUTIES TELL US THEY SMELLED BURNED MARIJUANA COMING FROM THE CAR.
AND HENLEY TOLD THEM, "SIR, I WANT TO BE HONEST. I HAVE A NIC BAG IN MY PANTS."
THEN REACHED INTO HIS PANTS AND PULLED OUT MARIJUANA.
DETECTIVES NOTED THAT BIGELOW BEGAN TO ACT EXTREMELY NERVOUS- AS HIS HANDS BEGAN TO SHAKE AND HE BEGAN TO SWEAT.
DEPUTIES SAY THEY FOUND A SMALL AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE CAR,
BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH TO TEST POSITIVE FOR THC.
DETECTIVES REPORT THAT HENLEY ADMITTED TO BUYING THE POT,
SO THEY ARRESTED HIM.
HE WAS ALSO ARRESTED FOR DRIVING BIGELOW'S CAR WITHOUT A LICENSE.
BIGELOW WAS CITED FOR ALLOWING THAT TO HAPPEN.
17:30 "why was bigelow not arrested if there drugs found on his car." "He was not in constructive possession of those drugs- they were physically on the other individual who was making admissions that it was his marijuana."
Return to index of stories...
DEPUTIES SAY ONCE THEY GOT HENLEY TO THE JAIL- THEY ALSO FOUND COCAINE ON HIM. DETECTIVES TELL US HENLEY SAID IT WAS THE COMMISSIONER'S AND THAT BIGELOW USES COCAINE ON A REGULAR BASIS. BUT BECAUSE IT WAS FOUND ON HENLEY- HE WAS ARRESTED FOR COCAINE POSSESSION TOO.

It will be a spectacular finish to the work week as high pressure remains in control of our weather pattern with plentiful sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures in the upper 70s. By the weekend, our winds will take more of an easterly turn, which will bring a bit of low level moisture across the state. By Saturday and Sunday, expect a few more clouds dotting the sky with temperatures recovering back into the lower 80s.
Right now computer forecast models are indicating another cold front moving down the peninsula Tuesday with the possibility of a few more cloudy periods and our next chance of rain.

THE MARKETS HAD ANOTHER TOUGH DAY, THE DOW INDUSTRIALS NOW DOWN MORE THAN 400 POINTS SINCE THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
ALTHOUGH HISTORY TELLS US THAT MARKETS USUALLY LOSE GROUND THE DAY AFTER A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, YESTERDAY'S PERFORMANCE SEEMED A BIT HARSH.
OUR WELLS FARGO ADVISOR NICK CHLUMSKY IS LIVE IN THE STUDIO AND NICK -- SHOULD INVESTORS BE CONCERNED BY THE NEWS ON WALL STREET?
Return to index of stories...
For longer-term investors, I would say no. For those of you that are invested in the market with a very short time horizon, you should probably be a bit concerned and we'll get into that in just a minute. But of course, if your time horizon is very short, you shouldn't be invested in stocks anyway.
Return to index of stories...
But the drop we saw in the markets yesterday isn't out of the norm for the first trading day after an election day. In fact, the market has fallen roughly 75% of the time the day after an election day. And although the markets got a pounding yesterday with the Dow down well over 300 points it wasn't near the beating the markets took the day after Obama was first elected back in 2008 when the market dropped 5.25%.
Now, to put that into perspective, yesterday the markets were down about 2.5% with the Dow dropping 313 points. A 5.25% drop in stocks like we saw back in 2008 would have driven the Dow down 700 points. And with what's on the horizon right now with the impending fiscal cliff, I think we're fortunate we didn't see more of a downdraft in the market.
And although I think everyone is quite relieved that the elections are over and now have one less uncertainty to deal with, investors will still be quite consumed with the fiscal cliff deadline now quickly approaching. And depending upon how our leaders deal with this issue and to what extent they can compromise and come to an agreement will dictate just how volatile markets will be for the next several months.
We believe there are three scenarios that could unfold around the fiscal cliff. The first, and least likely, scenario would be for Congress to become deadlocked over negotiations and allow the country to go over the cliff.
The second scenario would be to just postpone the fiscal cliff tax hikes and spending cuts for another year. However, this might be viewed as irresponsible by credit rating agencies, and the U.S. debt rating could be downgraded.
· The third and most likely outcome is that lawmakers would find acceptable middle ground that would include some tax increases and spending cuts but not the full measure scheduled to occur at the end of the year.
Return to index of stories...
And I think investors need to be prepared for this last scenario to unfold because the reality is that the underlying US economic fundamentals remain favorable. Additionally, the Federal Reserve's easy money policies should continue to help stimulate the economy. If we get some good or great news regarding the fiscal cliff, investors aren't going to be so worried about losing money but rather losing out on an opportunity should stocks start back on a bull rally.

TYLER CAMPBELL IS 6'3" 200 POUNDS A TOUGH KID WITH A GENTLE SMILE. YOU WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN IT BUT FOR THREE DAYS HE WOULD HAVE TO PULL ON EVERY BIT OF STRENGTH HE HAD.
Tyler is just a special person.
TYLER'S FATHER LEE, TOOK ME BACK TO SATURDAY NIGHT. HE SAYS THE ENTIRE FAMILY WAS AT A CHURCH EVENT WHEN TYLER TOLD THEM HE WAS LEAVING TO STOP BY A FRIEND'S HOUSE AND HE WOULD BE HOME AT MIDNIGHT.
He didn't come home at 12:00
PANIC DIDN'T SET IN UNTIL MORNING. FAMILY AND SEARCH CREWS RETRACED TYLER'S ROUTE HOME WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY DIDN'T KNOW BUT TYLER HAD FALLEN ASLEEP ON I-65 AND DIDN'T WAKE UP UNTIL HIS TRUCK WENT OFF THE ROAD AND DROPPED SOME THIRTY FEET INTO A RAVINE.
THE CRASH BROKE HIS LEG AND SHOULDER. EVEN STILL, HE CLIMBED OUT OF THE WRECKAGE AND TRIED CLIMBING UP THE EMBANKMENT AND FAILED MANY TIMES.
He said I just prayed to God to take my life. He said, i went as far as i could go. And he said God told me i wasn't done yet.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON, IN PAIN. COLD AND ONLY FUELED BY RAIN WATER HE DRANK OUT OF HIS BROKEN HEADLIGHT HE TRIED AGAIN AND MADE IT TO THE ROADWAY AND WAS SPOTTED BY A DRIVER. FIRST RESPONDERS RUSHED TO HIS AID.
He said i want to talk to my momma and daddy. That's just Tyler.
AND OF COURSE, TYLER HAD THAT SAME SMILE AS ALWAYS, EVEN ON A HOSPITAL ROOM GURNEY.
It's incredible. I knew he was tough, i didn't know he was that tough.
AND HE AND HIS FAMILY DREW FROM THEIR FAITH.
I don't believe in luck. It was the Lord. It was 100% in his plan, his will his way.
