Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
The warming trend that started over the weekend will carry over into our Monday, and we may even see a few passing showers roaming across Southwest Florida through the day.
The main headline today is that we expect another warm and breezy day with a swift easterly breeze coming in at 5-15 mph with some higher gusts near 20 mph.
With no cold fronts coming to Southwest Florida during the week, temperatures will continue to stay fairly warm. Daytime highs in most spots will reach the mid 80s with highs close to the coast reaching the low 80s.
While rain prospects don't look to promising through the next several days, we will mention the potential for some passing showers today as some Atlantic moisture gets carried over with the easterly winds. If you manage to get a passing shower, it likely won't be too heavy or long lived. Aside from a few isolated showers, look for a mix of sun and clouds through the day.
Tuesday will be another warm day with highs in the mid 80s and a partly cloudy sky. A stray afternoon shower will be possible, but these will be pretty scarce.
Another change you'll likely notice this week is the higher humidity levels. It's not going to be a big jump, but this week will be a little more humid compared to that dry, crisp air we had a few days ago.
Confidence continues to remain high the next front that moves into the state will stall before making to Southwest Florida, so the mild, warm weather will continue all the way into the upcoming weekend.
By Sunday there's a chance our winds may turn more northerly, which would usher in some slightly cooler, drier air. We'll continue to track the possibility over the next several days, but until then, the warm weather rolls along!

Weather Trends
