Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Increasing clouds, stray shower"
Over the last several days, afternoon temperatures have been one or two degrees above the 80° mark, and Friday will be no exception as we continue with near normal highs in the upper 70s to 80°.
Clear skies overnight and light winds will set the stage for areas of low clouds and patchy fog once again this morning especially for locations north of the Caloosahatchee River. Temperatures will start off in the lower to middle 60s and just like yesterday, expect the low clouds to hang around for an hour or two after sunrise before visibilities start to improve.
Sunshine will break out through the lunchtime hour before an increase in the cloud cover begins to take shape late in the day in association with a piece of energy diving down across the gulf states. Even with the increased cloud cover, daytime highs will still manage to climb into the upper 70s to low 80s with slightly cooler readings along the coast due to our afternoon seabreeze.
Tonight, clouds will remain in place with overnight lows settling into the lower to middle 60s with the possibility of a couple of stray showers.
This system will produce more clouds than rain across Southwest Florida as we will cap the rain chance at 20-30% across the area through Saturday. Temperatures during this timeframe will hover into the upper 70s to low 80s with lows in the 60s.
By Sunday, more sunshine is on tap as dry high pressure keeps our weather pattern nice and stable through early next week. Temperatures will run close to average with highs near 80° and lows near 60° through the Thanksgiving holiday.
