THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
It looks like we've got another day with some cloud complications across Southwest Florida.
After seeing a gray, cloudy sky for most of the day Friday, it's looking like those pesky clouds will hang around through a good portion of our Saturday.
Even a spotty shower or two will be possible this afternoon as a weather system passes to our north, but this will mainly be a cloud system for us, not a big rain maker.
We'll start things off again today with a layer of thick cloud cover, which should start to break up some by midday. As these low-level clouds begin to break up, more clouds will likely build in and develop in response to a disturbance swinging across the northern part of the state.
It looks like we could see more glimpses of sunshine compared to Friday's mostly overcast day, but sunshine should stay pretty limited with all the clouds around.
One weather element that will be pretty noticeable today, particularly during the morning, is the wind. A stiff breeze out of the northeast may make for a cool wind at times with speeds ranging from 5-15 mph.
On Friday, the cloud cover had a huge influence on our temperatures with a lot of places not even managing to warm past 70 degrees. With a few more breaks in the clouds expected today, however, temperatures will likely be several degrees warmer with daytime highs projected to warm into the mid to upper 70s.
Expect many of today's clouds to hang around through tonight as temperatures cool into the low 60s by early Sunday.
There's some good news for the second part of our weekend as Sunday should bring some improving weather. We may start Sunday morning with some lingering clouds, but the cloud cover should diminish as we go through the day, making for a partly sunny to partly cloudy sky. As a result, temperatures will run a bit higher with daytime highs expected to climb into the low to mid 80s.
The days leaded up to Thanksgiving will pretty much stay rain free, but we could see more clouds build in late Tuesday into Wednesday. Aside from this little cloud speed bump, our forecast for next week looks nice. From Monday and Tuesday, our sky will feature a mixture of sun and clouds with afternoon temperatures warming into the upper 70s.
By Thanksgiving Day, a surge of some slightly cooler and drier air should make it to Southwest Florida, leaving us with sunny, refreshing weather just in time for the holiday. Highs will range in the mid to upper 70s with lows expected to drop into the 50s.

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS --
CAMERAS WERE READY BEFORE DAWN HOPING TO CATCH A GLIMPSE OF DAVID PETRAEUS - COMING TO BRIEF LAWMAKERS ABOUT THE DEADLY ATTACK IN BENGHAZI. ONE WEEK AFTER RESIGNING IN DISGRACE.
PETREAUS CAME BUT NO ONE SAW HIM.
He went behind those doors, if you can see back there, without anybody seeing him. In fact, the committee for some reason decided to protect him and they really had to go to great lengths to effectively sneak him in.
LAWMAKERS ADMIT THEY PROTECTED PETREAUS BECAUSE HE AGREED TO COME VOLUNTARILY WITH THE HOPE OF CLEARING UP CONFUSION ABOUT INTELLIGENCE IN THE DAYS AFTER SEPTEMBER'S DEADLY ATTACK.
BUT PETRAUES' TESTIMONY DIDN'T SEEM TO CLEAR MUCH UP. ESPECIALLY WHETHER HE DOWNPLAYED INFORMATION ABOUT TERRORIST INVOLVEMENT.
The clear impression that we were given is that the overwhelming amount of evidence was that it was a, it rose out of a spontaneous demonstration and was not a terrorist attack.
THAT WAS THE REPUBLICAN REACTION. DEMOCRATS INSIST PETRAEUS HAS BEEN CONSISTENT.
It's all about your perception and the information that you receive.he also said in the group there were extremists and some Al Qaeda affiliates and that was said in the very beginning.
THE MOST POLITICALLY-CHARGED CONTROVERSY IS OVER UN AMBASSADOR SUSAN RICE'S COMMENTS 5 DAYS AFTER THE ATTACK WHY SHE BLAMED IT ON BENGHAZI DEMONSTRATIONS, OFFICIALS NOW SAY DIDN'T EVEN HAPPEN AND WHY SHE DIDN'T MENTION TERRORIST FORCES INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS NOW BELIEVE ACTUALLY TARGETED THE US CONSULATE THERE.
DEMOCRATS EMERGED SAY THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE SHE WAS USING THESE UNCLASSIFIED CIA TALKING POINTS WHICH OMITTED MENTION OF EXTREMIST ELEMENTS BECAUSE IT WAS STILL CLASSIFIED AND COULD HAVE COMPROMISED INTELLIGENCE SOURCES.
She used the unclassified talking points that were signed off on by the entire intelligence community. So criticisms of her are completely unwarranted.
DEMOCRATS ACCUSED REPUBLICANS OF UNNECESSARILY ASSASSINATING RICE'S CHARACTER.
You don't pillory the person. And to select Ambassador Rice because she used an unclassified talking point to say that she is unqualified to be Secretary of State I think is a mistake.
BUT REPUBLICANS SAY THE PROBLEM IS RICE FREELANCED.
She went beyond that and she even mentioned that under the leadership of Barack Obama we had decimated Al Qaeda. Well she knew at that point and time that Al Qaeda was very likely responsible in part or in hole for the death of Ambassador Stevens.

NOWADAYS, NEEDS HAVE GROWN AND CHANGED. AND MANY COMPANIES OUTSOURCE WITH HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, LIKE LEE MEMORIAL HEALTH SYSTEM, TO A COVER SERVICES. FROM DRUG SCREENINGS, TO PHYSICALS AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE HEALTHY LIVING.
DR. ANDREW SINGH/OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE

For example, when flu season comes around, we can run an actual clinic onsite. The employees can get motivated to lose weight, to stop smoking, to control some of their medical issues.

It makes sense and saves dollars. Which is why businesses, large and small are investing in their workers well-being. Keeping employees healthy aligns with better attendance and lower insurance premiums.

"We'll be 10-98 63 mic call alpha Charlie."
Florida fish and wildlife conservation commission officer James suttles spends his days on the caloosahatchee river.
Besides boats- the most common thing he sees is manatees.
Sot suttles
" if there's shallow water the no where for the manatees to go."
The sea cows have to come to the surface to breath…and they're not good at moving quickly to protect themselves.
Sot
Joelle- when was the last time you saw a dead or injured manatee?
Suttles-2 hours ago."
So far this year, 308 manatees have died statewide.
57 were in lee county.
The leading cause of death- boats.
Sot suttles
" you have a high number of manatees, you get a county like lee with a high number of boaters- unfortunately manatees and boaters are going to come into contact and it doesn't work out for the manatee too well."
As manatees move up the caloosahatchee river to warmer waters- officers do what they can to protect them.
Sot suttles
Officers will be out using radar to enforce the speed zones."
Standup joelle
"The slow speed zones are in place for a reaso. Just because you don't see any manatees here, doesn't mean that they not just below the surface."
Sot suttles
A lot of people thing 25 mpg is slow speed, but in a vessel it's actually quite fast."
The goal is education-
So warnings are usually given before tickets- which can get pricey.
Sot suttles
" the $88 is for a state manatee zone violation, after humors offenses you can be charged with a federal manatee zone violation, they the same zones in lee county and federal fines can start at $250 dollars."
Despite the signs- many still break the rules.
Sot suttles
These guys drove their boat all the way into the shoreline on full plane."
The special enforcement…runs through March.

EVER NOTICE HOW LITTLE KIDS ARE SOMETIMES MORE EXCITED ABOUT THE BOX AND PACKAGING OF A PRODUCT THAN WHAT'S INSIDE?
AS STEVE WAINFOR REPORTS, AN OHIO TEACHER WAS SURPRISED BY WHAT HAPPENED WHEN HE REMOVED TOYS FROM HIS CLASSROOM.
Return to index of stories...
TEACHER PETE KASER WAS INSPIRED BY HIS THREE-YEAR-OLD STUDENTS TO TRY SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. HE REMOVED ALL THE TOYS AND LEARNING MATERIAL AND REPLACED IT WITH RAW MATERIALS.LIKE CARDBOARD BOXES. AND WHAT HE DISCOVERED SURPRISED EVEN HIM.
:13- 23
"NOT ONE OF THEM COMPLAINED ABOUT NOT HAVING A TOYS AND IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY COOL BECAUSE SO OF THE QUIETER KIDS ACTUALLY GOT TO SHOW LEADERSHIP ROLES IN PROJECTS."
KASER SAYS THAT THE KIDS CAME UP WITH THE IDEAS OF WHAT TO BUILD
:27- 30
"WHAT MAKES IT SO FUN IS I LIKE BUILDING STUFF."
THE TEACHERS HELPED CUT UP THE CARDBOARD. BUT IDEAS OF BUILDING A PIRATE SHIP, AN IGLOO,
AND A HOTEL. WAS ALL THEIRS. AND EVERY KID HAS THEIR FAVORITE.
:40- 44
"UMMM, PIRATES."
"AAARRGGGH THERE ME MATEES."
KASER HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND HAS STARTED TO SEE BEHAVIORAL CHANGES IN SOME OF THE KIDS.
:52- 1:03
"KIDS WHO HAD TROUBLE SEPARATING FROM THEIR PARENTS IN THE MORNING OR JUST WERE QUIETER IN THE CLASSROOM.WE HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN THEM BECOME LEADERS AND SEEN THEM GROW."
AND IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT RACING MARBLES.
THE TEACHERS SAY THAT THE KIDS ARE LEARNING MORE THAN JUST PLAYING WITH BOXES.
1:10- 1:21
"THERE ARE NEGOTIATIONS WHEN ONE PERSON SAYS IT'S A HOTEL AND SOMEONE ELSE SAYS IT'S A ROCKET SHIP. BEING ABLE TO SOLVE THOSE PROBLEMS AND ALSO BE FLEXIBLE."
KASER SAYS HE WILL CONTINUE WITH THIS UNTIL THE KIDS GET BORED.
SO THE NEXT TIME YOUR CHILD WANTS THAT LATEST TOY.
MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST GIVE THEM THE BOX.AND LET THEM BE CREATIVE.

THE DOLANS HAD THE SCARE OF A LIFETIME AT HOME IN SUNNYVALE SUNDAY.
"I brought the hamburgers in from the grill and there she was on couch. stiff and purple. and I just started screaming for my daughter."
"And I heard my dad call my name. and I've never heard him say my name that loud. It sounded like he was having a heart attack."
17-YEAR OLD LINDSAY TOOK ONE LOOK AT HER MOTHER AND JUMPED INTO ACTION.
"I plugged her nose. I made sure she had a clear throat. you know, I picked up her head a little bit so it wasn't as leaned back. and I blew in her mouth."
LINDSAY SAYS SHE TOOK A ONE HOUR CPR CLASS AT FREMONT HIGH SCHOOL 2 YEARS AGO.
SO SHE KNEW HOW TO BREATH LIFE BACK INTO HER MOTHER.
