FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Beautiful weather for the holiday weekend"

It was a much nicer start to the day with plenty of sunshine and cool temperatures. We'll continue the trend of cooler than normal weather as we head right into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

More sunshine is on the way for this afternoon with a few patchy clouds mixing in from time to time. Highs will climb into the middle to upper 70s with a nice breeze out of the north gusting close to 20mph. A front to our north will cross the peninsula today, and open the flood gates for a cool and dry airmass to flow into Florida.

Tonight, mostly clear skies will remain in the forecast with chilly overnight lows. Most of us will wake up on our Thanksgiving morning with temperatures in the lower 50s with upper 40s across our inland and northern cold spots. Temperatures will begin to warm up a bit by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower half of the 70s.

High pressure will dominate our weather pattern through the end of the week, with plenty of sunshine with cool overnight lows in the 50s and mild afternoons in the 70s.

Bright and sunny conditions will stick around through Saturday with another shot of cool and dry air making its way down the peninsula. This will just reinforce the already pleasant weather we have around our part of the state keeping us cool and dry through early next week.

3:02 Migraines are typically throbbing headaches. Sometimes one side of the head, sometimes both. They are associated with nausea, vomiting, visual changes, sensitivity to light, sensitivity to noises, typically last at least half an hour, more than an hour, or sometimes several days.

AMY OSHIER/REPORTING

RUNS:

Certain things may spark a reaction in a child's nervous system and start of migraine attack. The most elementary way to manage migraines is to recognize the triggers.

Dr. Guillermo Philipps/PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST

RUNS:

6:27 I ask parents what causes headaches to start? And for some people it's being out in the sun, others it's certain smells or certain foods. 3:57 I always ask about sleep - number of hours and the quality of sleep. Whether children are eating all three meals a day.

THESE ARE LIFESTYLE FACTORS, WHICH CAN BE MODIFIED. ONE FACTOR THAT CAN'T BE CHANGED, IS GENETICS. MIGRAINES TEND TO RUN IN FAMILIES.

MARGARET KARIS/MOTHER

RUNS:

2:15 We didn't have to look too far to see the source. Her dad and I get them too.

1 IN 5 KIDS FEEL THE HEADACHES COMING ON. THROUGH SENSITIVITY TO LIGHT OR SOUND, BLURRED VISION OR A SMELLING A CERTAIN ODOR. THAT WINDOW OF TIME MAY ALLOW THEM TO ACT.

Dr. Guillermo Philipps/PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST

RUNS:

12:33 Medication for headaches really works best when the headache first starts. So waiting long periods of time sometimes let's the headache get out of control.

CHILDREN WITH SEVERE MIGRAINES MAY TAKE DAILY MEDICATIONS, OTHERS BENEFIT FROM RELAXATION TECHNIQUES TO SOOTHE THE PAIN IN THEIR BRAIN. FOR LEE MEMORIAL HEALTH SYSTEM, I'M AMY OSHIER Return to index of stories...

FORECAST OPEN Return to index of stories...

Happy Thanksgiving! Return to index of stories...

THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS VISIT ARLINGTON CEMETERY EVERY YEAR TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS TO THIS COUNTRY'S FALLEN SOLDIERS.

BUT LAST MONTH, 30-YEAR-OLD LINDSAY STONE PHOTOGRAPHED HERSELF DOING SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT.

MOS

IN THIS PICTURE, LINDSAY CAN BE SEEN FLIPPING OFF THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWNS AND PRETENDING TO SCREAM IN FRONT OF A SIGN REQUESTING SILENCE AND RESPECT.

father: i was appalled. its not what this family is all about

STONE'S FATHER, SPEAKING TO OUR AFFILIATE WHDH IN BOSTON, APOLOGIZED FOR THE PHOTO, WHICH WAS POSTED ON HIS DAUGHTER'S FACEBOOK PAGE AS A JOKE.

father: She's just beside herself. she had no idea it was gonna go where it did.

TO LINDSAY'S SURPRISE, THE PHOTO WENT VIRAL, EVEN SPAWNING A FACEBOOK PAGE CALLED "FIRE LINDSAY STONE"

LINDSAY AND HER CO-WORKER, WHO TOOK THE PICTURE, HAVE BOTH BEEN PLACED ON LEAVE FROM THE ASSISTED LIVING HOME CALLED LIFE IN WHERE THEY BOTH WORK.

THEIR EMPLOYER RELEASED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:

"THIS PHOTOGRAPH IN NO WAY REFLECTS THE OPINIONS, THOUGHTS, OR FEELINGS OF THE LIFE ORGANIZATION."

LINDSAY AND HER FRIEND JAMIE SCHUSS WHO TOOK THE PICTURE ALSO RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING:

WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE PAIN WE HAVE CAUSED BY POSTING THE PICTURE. WE NEVER MEANT TO DISRESPECT ANY OF THE PEOPLE NATIONWIDE WHO HAVE SERVED THIS COUNTRY AND DEFENDED OUR FREEDOM SO VALIANTLY

BUT THESE VETERANS IN HYAENAS MASSACHUSETTS DON'T CARE IF IT WAS A JOKE OR NOT. TO THEM, IT'S OFFENSIVE EITHER WAY:
