MARRIET DAIGLE/NAPLES/28:27 "This is the worst thing that could've happened on a holiday."

SOME COLLIER COUNTY RESIDENTS WAKE UP TO A THANKSGIVING DAY MESS.

WATER SPEWING FROM A PIPE EARLY THIS MORNING JUST AS THEY PREPARED TO START THEIR PREPARING THEIR FEASTS.

THE SHOCK OF IT ALL SENT SOME INTO HURRICANE MODE --

STOCKING UP ON AS MUCH WATER AS POSSIBLE.

GOOD EVENING I'M HEATHER TURCO.

AND I'M NICK CILETTI.

THIS ALL HAPPENED AT CAMPBELL CIRCLE OFF AIRPORT PULLING ROAD --

N-B-C TWO'S RICK RITTER FOUND OUT WHILE THE REPAIRS CAME QUICKLY --

THE DAMAGE HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE. Return to index of stories...

A WATERFALL IN YOUR FRONT YARD.

Marriet Daigle/Naples/27:57 "Like an oil well exploding, all over trees, over houses."

FOR MARRIET DAIGLE AND THE REST OF CAMPBELL CIRCLE--IT'S THE LAST THANKSGIVING DAY TREAT THEY WERE HOPING FOR.

Marriet Daigle/Naples/28:56 "Don't need it today, don't need it today."

WHAT APPEARED TO BE A MINOR WATER MAIN BREAK STARTED AT 7 0 CLOCK THIS MORNING--BUT QUICKLY ESCALATED.

Marriet Daigle/27:51 "Within two hours, it was a geyser."

Rick Ritter/News at 6:00/36:53 "As soon as Marriet woke up this morning, she went into hurricane mode--filling up her bathtub completely, and loading up every pot in her kitchen with water that she was going to use for baking--doing everything she could to try and save her Thanksgiving day feast."

Marriet Daigle/Naples/28:52 "Can't cook without water."

SEVERAL NEIGHBORS LOST WATER PRESSURE---SOME LOST WATER COMPLETELY--PUTTING AN END TO WHATEVER THEY WERE COOKING.

Emily Kaczynski/Naples/30:32 "Maybe I'll have to go without the dessert this year, as long we have turkey, guess it's okay."

Marriet Daigle/28:41 "Dinner's going to be about 5 hours late."

THE BREAK WAS FINALLY FIXED BY COUNTY WORKERS AROUND NOON-BY THEN, THE DAMAGE WAS ALREADY DONE.

EITHER WAY, IT WILL BE A HOLIDAY TO REMEMBER FOR CAMPBELL CIRCLE--BUT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS.

Marriet Daigle/29:16 "Never will I forget it ever, not ever."

DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR, MANY TURN OUT WHO NEED A LITTLE EXTRA HELP.

FL GOVERNOR AT SMH-PKG-BNR

TRT = 1:29

Mateo Mattary/Naples = 0:07

Van Ellison/President, St. Matthew's House = 0:29 Governor Rick Scott = 0:43

FOR MANY COLLIER COUNTY RESIDENTS IN NEED, ST. MATTHEW'S HOUSE IS A SHOULDER TO LEAN ON.

MATEO EL MATTARY/NAPLES/18:46 "St. Matt's is like a gift sent from The Lord."

ESPECIALLY ON THE HOLIDAYS.

Vann Ellison/President, St Matt's House/15:10 "It's a heartwarming experience."

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT BROUGHT HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS TO NAPLES THIS THANKSGIVING---LED BY FLORIDA GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT.

Governor Rick Scott/10:09 "I'm always appreciative of orginizations like St. Matthews house and what they do every day."

ST MATT'S WILL FEED OVER 700 PEOPLE FOR THE HOLIDAY--MORE THEN PREVIOUS YEARS.

Van Ellison/14:18 "What's different this year is the economy has been devastated for so long, you see a lot more families and indivudals."

BUT GOVERNOR SCOTT SAYS HE CAN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THAT THE ECONOMY IS BOUNCING BACK--ESPECIALLY IN NAPLES.

Governor Scott/11:13 "Anne and I went walking this morning around Naples and couldn't believe the amount of homes that are being constructed right now."

EVEN THOUGH IT'S THANKSGIVING, SEVERAL TOPICS ARE STILL ON SCOTT'S MIND.ONE BEING THE COMPLAINTS OUT OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA ABOUT THE NOVEMBER ELECTION.

Gov Scott/12:17 "I asked the secretary of state to go back to supervisors of elections. Let's make sure people feel like they have honest, fair elections and that they wanna go out and vote."

ANOTHER BEING A BAN ON TEXTING AND DRIVING.SOMETHING HE'S STILL UNSURE ON.

Gov Scott/11:50 "There's a lot of discussion about texting and driving this year.I'm going to look at the bill, look at it then and make a decision at that point."

REGARDLESS, SCOTT SAYS THE ENTIRE STATE IS GROWING EVERY DAY.AND IT ISN'T GOING UN-NOTICED.

Gov Scott/11:25 "We'll have almost 90 million tourists this year in our state and I know a lot of them want to be here in Southwest Florida."
