FLORIDA HOMEOWNERS USE EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO PROTECT THEIR HOMES FROM STORMS -- AND LOWER THEIR INSURANCE RATES.

INSPECTORS AND PROPERTY INSURERS USE THESE FORMS TO DETERMINE HOW WELL PROTECTED YOUR HOME IS AGAINST HURRICANE-STRENGTH WINDS.
BUT YOU DON'T GET CREDIT FOR FORTIFYING YOUR GARAGE - IF YOUR WINDOWS AND ROOFS AREN'T HURRICANE RESISTANT.
21.57.50 what they're saying is apparently state law states that is your garage door is fortified you're entitled to a discount. That form didn't allow for that.
A JUDGE RULED THESE FORMS ARE INVALID AND NEED TO BE CHANGED.

BILL JUREK WITH HOME TEAM INSPECTION SERVICE SAYS HOMEOWNERS ARE LOSING OUT ON HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
21.58.41 "what will probably come out of this is there will be a new form that will allow for that discount for the garage doors as long as the garage door is fortified even if the rest of the house isn't, you will probably still be entitled to a discount.

Sunland--The biggest organic peanut butter plant in the country--has been
barred by the Food and Drug Administration from making or distributing its
products.
It's the same company that made peanut butter that sickened people in 20
states earlier this year.
The plant was all set to reopen yesterday-- until this drastic federal order
.
SOT SARAH KLEIN
This gives us hope that the fda is prepared to act aggressively and protect
consumers.
It's the first time the fda used new powers from a law passed just last year
to shutter a company it says is a continuing health risk.
The government will not allow the plant to reopen until, it says,
" Sunland no longer has a reasonable probability of causing serious health
consequences or death to humans".
8 year-old Nate Lebron was one of those who ate Sunland Peanut butter sold
at Trader Joes.
SOT NATE LEBRON
It felt very painful, the stomach cramps, I was screaming loud, saying why
does this happen.
The fda discovered salmonella throughout the New Mexico facility.
"no hand washing sinks". Leaks that left "water accumulating on the floor"
and open doors that "could allow pests to enter".

There was a reasonable probability of serious injury or death to consumers
from consuming products that were coming out of this facility.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
WARM AND DRY WEATHER
The last time we saw any measurable rain was November 6th….and it doesn't appear there will be any significant rain any time soon around southwest Florida. A front is moving across the northern part of the state this evening and will only scare up some clouds down here. First Alert Doppler Radar remains quiet tonight as the low temperatures drop off, slowly, into the 60's by tomorrow morning. The forecast for Wednesday still looks good; however, there will be some scattered clouds throughout the day. You can also enjoy a fair amount of sunshine tomorrow as the high temperatures top out above 80 degrees once again. Forecast models still tell the story of warm afternoons and pleasant evenings for several more days.
It looks like another weak weather system will cross the area late Friday / early Saturday with a few clouds and very little, if any, rain showers.
Hurricane season ends on Friday and there are no developing systems to track in the Atlantic Basin. It looks like the 2012 season will end on a very quiet weather pattern.
