Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
For the second day in a row, clouds will be pretty stubborn this morning, and most of us will start the day with a canopy of low clouds filtering the sun.
The cloud cover will also work to limit heating during the first half of the morning, so conditions will be rather cool to start the day with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
In conjunction with the cooler temperatures, a swift wind out of the east will bring an added chill to the air this morning, and we'll continue to see a stiff breeze through the day with gusts reaching 20 mph.
As we progress through the mid to late morning, the blanket of low clouds should begin to break, allowing for a few rays of sun to penetrate to the surface. This process should continue gradually through the afternoon, giving us a mix of sun and clouds for the second half of the day.
After this morning's somewhat chilly start, temperatures should warm quickly into the upper 70s this afternoon once the clouds break up.
Rain prospect will continue to stay low, but one or two sprinkles can't be ruled out, particularly father south close to Naples, Marco Island, and Everglades City.
Look for a partly cloudy sky tonight with temperatures in the low 60s across the urban corridor and mid to upper 50s over the interior.
Friday will likely offer up another day of more clouds than sun along with a slim chance of a sprinkle or two. Winds will stay very breezy, and temperatures will warm to 80 during the afternoon.
Sunshine will be on the increase as we head into the weekend, but we should also see our fair share of afternoon clouds riding in on a strong easterly breeze.
Overall, however, it's looking like a pleasant weekend with daytime highs close to 80 and morning lows around 60.

Weather Trends
