Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Limited Sun, scattered showers"
After a string of dry and sunny days, some minor changes are in the forecast over the next few days.
Our Thursday morning will start off mild with more clouds than sun. Through the early part of the day, we'll be watching an upper level disturbance sitting to our northwest in the northern Gulf of Mexico. With this weather system nearby and moving over head through the day, clouds will be in abundance with the chance for a few widely scattered showers.
Just like yesterday, mostly cloudy skies and a little bit of rain will keep our daytime highs capped in the upper 70s.
Tonight, as that disturbance begins to pull away to the east, clouds should begin to thin out with mainly dry weather in place. Overnight lows will settle into the lower 60s with one or two upper 50s on the thermometer across our northern cool spots.
The work week will end with a bit more sunshine and as a result, temperatures will rebound nicely into the lower 80s. Heading into the upcoming weekend, our skies will stay partly sunny with the opportunity to squeeze out a shower or two by Saturday.
Early next week, we'll be tracking another cold front sagging its way down the peninsula. At this time, forecast models are hinting at an increase in the cloud cover across our part of the state with the chance for some spotty showers.
Temperatures through the weekend and into early next week will run a few degrees above normal for this time of year. So even though the calendar says December, our weather is anything but winter like.

Full Forecast
