Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
After a round of rain on Saturday, we ended the weekend on a sunny and dry note as some slightly drier air moved in across the peninsula and made our atmosphere a bit more stable. As we head into the evening hours, temperatures will be slow to fall as they settle into the middle 70s under mostly clear skies.
Overnight, temperatures will stay rather warm in the upper 60s with areas of late night fog developing once again across Southwest Florida. In some spots the fog could become quite dense at times limiting visibilities on area roadways to less than 1/4 of a mile by sunrise.
Early in the week, our weather pattern will become more unsettled as an onshore flow from the Gulf of Mexico transports plenty of tropical moisture across the area ahead of an approaching cold front. With this moist air flow in place, a couple of showers will be possible along the coast and urban corridor through the mid day hours, before any rain activity gets pushed deeper inland. A mix of sun and clouds will remain in the forecast for Monday with afternoon highs running in the lower to middle 80s.
Our skies will turn mostly cloudy both Tuesday and Wednesday as a cold front makes its way down the state and gives our rain prospects quite a boost. With no cold air in sight, our streak of warm weather days will continue, however a slight drop in the humidity may be felt by the end of the week with highs in the upper 70s, while temperatures cool into the upper 50s along with more sunshine.

"People like it because it's something that's fast and easy for them to do."
KELLI GRANT AT SMARTMONEY-DOT-COM SAYS CHARITIES ARE TURNING TO TWITTER AND FACEBOOK MAINLY TO CONNECT WITH YOUNGER DONORS.
BUT SAYS. DIGITAL DONATIONS TEND TO BE SMALLER.
"By the end of things, if you're sending them a 10 dollar text message donation, they may not have all that much left that actually goes to the program or the help you may have wanted someone to receive."
THAT'S BECAUSE THERE ARE MIDDLE MEN MANAGING THE ONLINE TRANSACTIONS FOR THE CHARITIES.
. AS WELL AS CREDIT CARD COMPANIES GETTING THEIR CUT.
"That's roughly another 3% out of the amount they get, and in some cases, the site that's acting as a middle man, they can take a cut of maybe another 10%."
SHE SAYS THESE COSTS APPLY TO LARGE DONATIONS, TOO. WHICH IS WHY SHE SUGGESTS IF YOU'RE FEELING REALLY GENEROUS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, GO TRADITIONAL.
"I think the bottom line for consumers is the still the best way to give is the old fashioned way: to pull out your check book and to send a donation to the charity directly."
THAT WAY YOU ALSO GET TO DEDUCT THE FULL AMOUNT OF YOUR DONATION. FROM YOUR TAXES.

BRAND NEW THIS MORNING.
THE TWO AUSTRALIAN RADIO D-JS BEHIND THE PRANK CALL TO A LONDON HOSPITAL WHERE KATE MIDDLETON WAS BEING TREATED ARE SPEAKING OUT.
I'm just so devastated for them. I'm really feeling for them. If we had any idea that something like this could be even possible to happen you know we couldn't see this happening it was meant to be a prank call.
The call was not malicious and no harm was intended on Jacintha or the other nurse or Kate or Prince William or anyone. It wasn't, from start to finish, no harm was intended and obviously you know we're incredibly sorry for the harm that we've may have helped contribute.
NURSE JACINTHA SALDANHA ANSWERED THE PHONE LAST WEEK WHEN THE PAIR CALLED.
SHE WAS FOUND DEAD FRIDAY OF AN APPARENT SUICIDE.

Weather Trends
