Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
We'll be tracking two weather systems this week, both cold fronts, which will give us at least a slight chance of rain in the coming days. The first front is set to arrive Tuesday and the second one on Thursday night.
Before the first front arrives tomorrow, we're in store for a pretty warm and humid Monday with partly sunny skies. Temperatures will start well above average in the morning with lows only in the mid to upper 60s. Daytime highs will easily reach 80 this afternoon, and the increasing humidity will make the air feel a bit warmer. Our rain chances will stay pretty slim today, but a spotty shower isn't completely out of the question.
During the morning and midday hours Tuesday, a weakening "cool" front will slide through Southwest Florida. In fact, we'll only notice a slight dip in temperatures Wednesday morning as lows slip into the upper 50s, so this front won't be known for its temperature change. The main side effect from this front will actually be felt Wednesday as humidity levels briefly drop off, but even this change won't be too dramatic. There will be a slight chance of rain during the first part of Tuesday as the front passes, but rain should be fairly isolated and spotty.
Despite the lack of power front Tuesday front, our weather looks very nice Wednesday in its wake. Humidity will be noticeably lower, and temperatures will be quite pleasant as daytime highs warm into the upper 70s and low 80s.
We'll notice a sharp increase in humidity and warmth Thursday as our winds turn more southerly, but then temperatures will drop fairly quickly Friday once the next front clears Southwest Florida. We'll see a chance for scattered showers Thursday night into early Friday as the front works into the area, but our rain chance looks to be around 30-40%.
Our weather Friday will be cool, breezy, and much less humid as a very dry Canadian air mass filters into Southwest Florida. Afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach the 70s, and by Friday night, temperatures will even have a chance to fall into the 40s.
The weather for the upcoming weekend looks phenomenal with lots of sunshine, low humidity, and highs in the mid 70s.

Weather Trends
