The rest of our Thursday afternoon will be another dry one with a few more clouds mixing in with our sunshine. With a southerly flow across the peninsula, a more humid airmass will be in place with daytime highs reaching the lower 80s. We will more than likely see an increase in the cloud cover late Thursday and into early Friday with the approach of our second cold front for the week.
This front will bring us a band of a few scattered showers during the early morning hours on Friday, with a more significant push of colder air arriving during the day. Skies will clear from north to south, but despite the afternoon breezy sunshine daytime highs will struggle to reach 70° in many locations. Friday night looks to be the coldest as overnight lows will drop into the lower to middle 40s by Saturday morning. Afternoon highs will remain quite cool as they work their way into the middle to upper 60s with lots of sunshine.
High pressure will have a firm grip on our weather through the upcoming weekend with highs in the low 70s returning by Sunday with sunny and dry weather through the Christmas holiday.

DESPITE STRONG ECONOMIC RELEASES TODAY, STOCKS STRUGGLED TO MOVE UPWARD FOR MOST OF THE SESSION.
OUR WELL FARGO ADVISORS ARE HERE TODAY -
NICK CHLUMSKY IS IN THE STUDIO.
NICK 2012 IS ALMOST OVER --
WHAT'S IN STORE FOR 2013?
Return to index of stories...
Well, first, for a year riddled with volatility and uncertainty, 2012 is shaping up to be a great year for the markets. In fact, the S&P500 is up 14.5% year to date even in the face of the looming fiscal cliff.
Return to index of stories...
And fundamentally, it appears that economic conditions here in the US have been trending positively. And many recent economic releases have confirmed this trend. Just today, GDP for the third quarter was revised up to 3.1% from 2.7%. Existing home sales rose 5.9% in November and Mid-Atlantic manufacturing activity unexpectedly expanded in December.
So to answer your question about what will happen in 2013, of course none of us has a crystal ball. But I think barring a complete mess up in Washington, we're trending in the right direction and I believe we are well poised for another great year.
If Congress does reach a compromise on tax hikes and spending cuts as we anticipate, we expect the economy to continue growing slowly.
Given the current environment, we expect stocks to continue to offer a good investment opportunity while fixed income, faced with extremely low rates, may struggle a bit.
History suggests that the year after an election is often a time when policymakers finally get around to addressing pressing problems.
We believe that 2013 is more likely to be a year when leaders finally take action rather than kick the can down the road again. As a result, the year is also likely to be a time when investor and business confidence increases as the underlying health of the US economy continues to improve slowly.
So, our analysts here at Wells Fargo Advisors have been hard at work and here's what they think will happen next year. According to our most recent 2013 Economic and Market Outlook publication, we believe that 2013 will be another good year for stocks. The 2013 end of year forecast for the S&P500 is somewhere between 1,525 and 1,575. The lower end of that range would translate into a 6% gain for stocks next year.
In regard to the fixed income markets, the Federal Reserve has already told us that the Federal Funds rate will remain at near zero and therefore we believe real rates will also remain low. We are forecasting the 10 year treasury rate to be around 2.5% at the end of next year with inflation subdued remaining right around 2.5%
We also expect both home sales and vehicle sales to increase next year while unemployment should drop from a current level of 7.8% to 7.5%. So, all in all, I think the prospects for growth look good in 2013 and that should provide an opportunity for investors.
Return to index of stories...
Let's just keep our fingers crossed that our leaders in Washington can come to a compromise and avert the looming fiscal cliff.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
A COLD BLAST FROM THE PAST
Our weather on Thursday was rather quiet, but if you traveled to North Florida - you encountered some wicked storms. They experienced damaging wind, heavy rain, and even a few tornados. Their severe activity was instigated by a strong cold front that will soon bring us rain, and yes, cold temperatures.
So let me set the stage for you. Our arctic cold front is pushing through the Deep South right now, and its ETA for Southwest Florida is early Friday morning. The front will first bring with it added clouds and a line of rain. Once it pushes through we'll see the skies begin to clear.
… The sunshine will not help us warm up.
We're expecting highs for Friday to be around 65, and from there they get even colder! A cold air mass will funnel into the area in the wake of this cold front, and morning lows on Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower 40s. If you live deeper inland, you may even see some mid to upper 30s. The afternoon temperatures will rebound, but still stay cold. They'll continue to linger in the 60s.
The last time we saw temperatures this cold was last winter. So get ready for the cold blast from the past!
Along with the cold we'll see a deep blue sky above, and a brisk wind coming from the north.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are in view, and both days look nice. However, they'll jump start a warming trend for us. Lows will be around 60 with highs near 80 under mostly sunny skies.
Enjoy!

THE SUCCESS OF THE HOLIDAY SHOPPING SEASON IS MEASURED AT THE CASH REGISTER.
AND FOR MACY'S. THEY PLAN TO GIVE PEOPLE MORE TIME TO SPEND THEIR MONEY.
"There is absolutely no break."
NO BREAK FOR MACY'S STORES AS THEY PROMISE TO STAY OPEN FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS STRAIGHT THE WEEKEND JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
"We will open on friday at 7am, and we will stay open through sunday, late."
"And while there is one part of me that says, wow, what is our society heading into? The marketing side of me says, game on."
MARKETING EXPERT BERNHARD SCHROEDER SAYS THIS MOVE FOR A NON-STOP SHOPPING WEEKEND MAY GIVE MACY'S AN EDGE WITH LAST MINUTE SHOPPERS. AND IS BOUND TO GET THE ATTENTION OF OTHER RETAIL COMPETITORS.
"You're going to see several other brands potentially step forward and match it."
BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU OPEN YOUR STORE ALL NIGHT LONG. WILL SHOPPERS COME AND SPEND THEIR MONEY?
"Um, I just don't shop in the middle of the night."
"No I'll be asleep at that time. I'll let the rest of the people handle that but I'll be asleep."
"If you work nights or something like that, get off work, come by, maybe that's a pretty good idea."
"Now this doesn't just give an advantage of macy's over the other retail stores, by opening up 48 hours just before christmas, it's also a good move to compete against the online stores."
MACY'S HOPES THEY CAN CREATE A SORT OF BLACK FRIDAY BUZZ FOR BARGAIN SHOPPERS AND PROCRASTINATORS. BUT THE QUESTION STILL REMAINS. WHO WILL BE HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
"Absolutely, if there's less people out, why not?"

They shot this in a very clever way what they did is they shot the video and
they panned the camera as if they were following a bird but the bird want
really there they had to add that in as a 3d element /00:47:28 they also
modeled a digital double of the kid
WE MIGHT GIVE THEM AN "A" BUT THIS EAGLE WASN'T PICTURE PERFECT.
