FIRST WEATHER

COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH

It's happening right now … a cold front is crossing the area and there will be a quick burst of showers as the front passes. When the showers stop … and they won't last long …. The winds will shift to the west/northwest and you will notice a drop in temperature. In fact, we will easily drop into the low 50's by tomorrow morning and it will continue to be a bit breezy tonight.

Tomorrow will be a fairly nice day and it won't be as windy as it was today. Boating and beach weather will be mostly sunny with a north/northwest wind around 10 - 15 mph. The high tomorrow will be cooler than today as well. We hit 80 this afternoon and tomorrow will stay in the 70's. Humidity will be down a bit and it should be a great Thursday.

More sunshine and cool weather is on the way for Friday as we wake up to morning lows in the chilly 40's and daytime highs around 70. The next cold front in the forecast is due here on Saturday and we will see some more showers to start the weekend. But don't cancel any plans based on that rain forecast … just like today the showers for Saturday should move through quickly. Return to index of stories...

President Obama spent part of his Christmas day greeting and thanking

service members.

Obama-SOT-

THANK YOU FOR THE EXTRAORDINARY WORK.

knowing that the military is facing some of the steepest cuts if the country

goes over the fiscal cliff on New Year's day.

The President is giving it one last shot.cutting short his vacation in

Hawaii and returning to Washington tomorrow to try to hammer out a last-

minute deal with congressional Republicans.

But if there's no breakthrough before New Year's Day.every American will

be hit with higher taxes.

A school teacher with two kids and a salary of $43,000, for example,

will face a tax hike of more than $3000.

The super rich.like LeBron James, who makes roughly $53 million a

year, would see his taxes go up more than $2.4 million next year.

Sen. John Barrasso-SOT-

I WANT US TO NOT GO OVER THE CLIFF, BECAUSE I THINK IF WE DO, IT HURTS OUR

ECONOMY AND IT HURTS OUR COUNTRY.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar-SOT-

MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE THEIR TAXES GO UP AN AVERAGE OF $2,000 A

YEAR, AND WE SHOULD START MAKING SOME MEANINGFUL REFORM OF THE DEBT.

Going over the fiscal cliff means more than higher taxes.federal workers are

at risk of being furloughedand unemployment benefits for some 2 million

people would expire.

Not to mention many economists say the nation will fall back into a

recession.

There are reports Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is now working on a

smaller deal than the comprehensive one the President negotiated with House

Speaker John Boehner. Return to index of stories...

RETURN THE THINGS WE DIDN'T LIKE, FROM RELATIVES. AND THEN I BUY WHAT I WANT

Experts predict today will be among the top five shopping days of the year.

Last year, analysts say shoppers spent more than 7 billion dollars on the

day after Christmas.

Amazon is offering a 46-inch TV, marked down 44 percent, for just 338

Best Buy -- cutting the price of a Nikon Digital Camera 50 percent to
