RAIN AND COLD FRONT-WX CTR

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH

It's happening right now … a cold front is crossing the area and there will be a quick burst of showers as the front passes. When the showers stop … and they won't last long …. The winds will shift to the west/northwest and you will notice a drop in temperature. In fact, we will easily drop into the low 50's by tomorrow morning and it will continue to be a bit breezy tonight.

Tomorrow will be a fairly nice day and it won't be as windy as it was today. Boating and beach weather will be mostly sunny with a north/northwest wind around 10 - 15 mph. The high tomorrow will be cooler than today as well. We hit 80 this afternoon and tomorrow will stay in the 70's. Humidity will be down a bit and it should be a great Thursday.

More sunshine and cool weather is on the way for Friday as we wake up to morning lows in the chilly 40's and daytime highs around 70. The next cold front in the forecast is due here on Saturday and we will see some more showers to start the weekend. But don't cancel any plans based on that rain forecast … just like today the showers for Saturday should move through quickly. Return to index of stories...

"Shocked. I mean this is paseo. It's isolated. It's a gated community."

Even with security around the clock, someone got in and woke up the neighborhood.

Take sound

Brad Cherkin

"Got up about 4 o'clock in the morning and I heard some sirens which is unusual for this area."

Also unusual--the bright yellow crime scene tape criss-crossing the small residential street.

Take sound

Nicole Moscheola, Resident

"I looked out the window and there were four cop cars and an ambulance and they had taken the stretcher out of the ambulance at this point."

First responders rushed to the Paseo Community after word of a home invasion. They discovered a woman had been stabbed and took her by ambulance to the hospital.

Take sound

Nicole

"This is a very safe neighborhood so I was very surprised to see it I thought maybe it was a heart attack or something more natural. Not a stabbing."

Nats

Helicopters humming over the community searched for the suspect--but came up short. Neighbors now--a little on edge.

Sharon Ornduff, Resident

"It's gated but there's no way to keep people out."

While investigators believe this appears to be an isolated incident, residents are still shaken--and aren't taking any chances.

Take sound

Brad

"Can't be too careful. Have to make sure that you lock your doors and that you know whats going on." Return to index of stories...
