IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
SHOWERS ON AND OFF
Tonight and again tomorrow afternoon we will see a few showers across southwest Florida. The favored areas for seeing rain tonight will be along and north of the Caloosahatchee River … especially in Charlotte county. Temperatures tonight will be very mild compared to last night and we will only drop into the 60's this evening. A breeze from the southwest will help keep the temperatures from dropping off tonight and will also help warm us back to 77 - 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon. A cold front is expected to cross the area in the late afternoon tomorrow. In advance of the front we will see variable clouds with showers and/or a thunderstorm arrive in the late afternoon. It will also be windy tomorrow with southwest winds at 15 - 20 and gusty throughout the day.
The extended outlook shows clearing late Saturday evening and a very nice, but cooler day on Sunday. Highs to end the weekend will only be around 70 and our overnight low on Monday morning goes back into the 50's. New Years Eve and New Years Day both look fine with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE IS LOOKING INTO A MILLION DOLLAR SALARY FOR ONE OF ITS C-E-O'S.
D-J-J PAID ONE OF ITS CHILD CARE PROVIDERS MORE THAN A MILLION DOLLARS IN SALARY AND BENEFITS.
THE AGENCY WANTS TO TAKE SOME OF THAT MONEY AND PUT IT TOWARD KEEPING CHILDREN OUT OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM.
Florida taxpayers will likely share the anger of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice over a nonprofit company, funded with state contracts, that pays its CEO a seven-figure salary.
---VO---
DJJ conducted an analysis of The Henry and Rilla White Foundation's budget and discovered the group paid its CEO more than $1.2 million a year.
DJJ says that's too much money especially when you consider the foundation is spending less on services for troubled children, while it's dramatically increasing its executive compensation.
The foundation's tax forms reveal it paid three people more than $1.7 million last year.
Juvenile Justice Secretary Wansley Waters sent a letter to the foundation, saying the salary for CEO William Schossler is drastically higher than CEO's of comparable nonprofit groups.
DJJ spokesman CJ Drake says the state and taxpayers don't want their cash spent on excessive salaries.
---SOT--- CJ Drake/ Florida Department of Juvenile Justice "We have a responsibility to be good stewards of the taxpayers' money and the taxpayers of Florida are paying for serious critical services for troubled young people in the state's care. So we have to make sure that money is being spent responsibly and wisely and in this case, we don't think so."
---SOT--- Drake
"The amount of money being spent on direct services for troubled young people was decreasing while the amount of money being spent on executive compensation was increasing. So that is not a sustainable trend and I don't think the taxpayers expect their money to be spent in that fashion."
---TAG---
The Henry and Rilla White Foundation has 23 state contracts to provide counseling for children and try to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
William Schossler declined to talk to us on camera but said his board of directors increased his pay and benefits in preparation for his retirement. He called it a responsible payout since he founded the nonprofit and has worked to build it up over the past 25 years.
