Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"Not as sunny, still warm"
After a pretty nice day on Thursday, our Friday promises to be a bit cloudier as a slow moving cool front makes its way across Southwest Florida.
Fog could be an issue once again this morning, however it should only be patchy in nature where skies have stayed clear through the overnight hours mainly for locations south of the Caloosahatchee River and across our inland locations. As this front stalls across our part of the state, more cloud than sun will remain in the forecast through the afternoon, with a few rays of sunshine from time to time. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures will rebound from the middle to upper 60s back into the upper 70s near 80°. There is a chance for a brief shower or two anytime during the day, however the vast majority of us will stay dry as we round out the week.
Tonight, mostly cloudy skies will remain overhead with the possibility of a passing shower. Typical overnight lows should be in the middle 50s for this time of year, and tonight's numbers will be several degrees above that as they settle into the middle 60s.
The first half of the weekend looks to be a bit sunnier as this front begins to retreat northward. That means the warm and humid weather will continue with highs in the low 80s. Sunday offers us our best rain chance as this front will get another push southbound with a few scattered showers during the late afternoon and carrying over into the evening hours. A lingering shower is not out of the question early Monday morning across our most southern locations with a clearing trend throughout the day. Don't expect much a cool down with this next front, as highs will stay near 80° with lows in the 60s.

BUT THE BIG CHANGE FOR EVERYBODY.THE SOCIAL SECURITY PAYROLL TAX HOLIDAY. IS OVER. THOSE TAXES GO UP 2-PERCENT.
"Most working people will see a reduction in their take-home paycheck that will reduce the amount of money they'll have for discretionary expenses and that will also reduce the amount of saving and investing dollars they'll be able to set aside"
FOR A FAMILY MAKING THE NATIONAL MEDIAN OF ABOUT 50-THOUSAND A YEAR.THAT'S ANOTHER THOUSAND DOLLARS IN TAXES.
"There are a lot of people that the only pay increase they saw in the last two years was that payroll tax holiday. Now, that it's going away, it's going to squeeze consumer buying power"
INVESTMENT INCOME WILL ALSO BE TAXED AT A HIGHER RATE.BUT, CHRISTINE BENZ AT MORNINGSTAR SAYS, AGAIN, ONLY FOR PEOPLE WITH HIGHER INCOMES.
"If you're below those thresholds, you really won't see a big impact in terms of the investment-related taxes that you'll owe"
IT MAY TAKE YOUR EMPLOYER A COUPLE OF WEEKS.BUT EXPECT NEW PAYCHECKS FOR 2013 TO BE NOTICEABLY SMALLER.

Weather Trends
