IT'S BEEN A HOT ONE IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA!
COULD YOU TELL TODAY?
TYLER ___.
SWELTERING SUNDAY EXPECTED
Another very warm January weekend is in the works for Southwest Florida with near record highs possible yet again.
With strong high pressure blocking any incoming cold fronts, daytime highs will easily warm into the low to mid 80s through the next several days, which is close to record high territory. The record high 86° Sunday, we will give that number a run for its money too!
Sunshine will dominate our weekend weather, but some low clouds and fog may develop during the early morning Sunday. In the places where fog manages to develop, it will likely fade very quickly by mid morning.
Some patchy, fair-weather clouds will develop as we go through the late morning and afternoon, but rain prospects will stay quite low on Sunday. Minus a stray spotty shower, our weather will stay dry with rain chances less than 10%.
If you're heading out to the beach to enjoy the warm weather, weather conditions should be perfect. Water temperatures will range from 70-72°, and seas will be close to 3 feet. The only thing to look out for will be sea fog if you're going out in the boat during the early morning.
Our warm weather pattern will stay locked in place through most of the upcoming week until a weak front approaches by Thursday. If the front manages to push far enough south, we'll see the possibility of slightly cooler weather by the end of the week. Even then, temperatures will only cool a few degrees by Friday with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s.
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"The main thing that you learn is that it could be anybody at any time."
BUT ANY TIME - HAPPENED THIS WEEK…WHEN A CELINA DAD…WALKED UP TO HIS CHILD'S SCHOOL…LEAVING THE GREETER IN PANIC.
S/ Donny O'Dell/ Celina ISD Superintendent:15 -:18
"He told him he was a gunman and his target was on the inside - and I'm going inside, what are you going to do about it?"
THEN - RON MILLER WALKED RIGHT THROUGH THE SCHOOL DOORS - INTO THE OFFICE.
S/ Donny O'Dell/ Celina ISD Superintendent:25 -:27
"He told them that he is a shooter and you're dead, and you're dead."
BUT MILLER NEVER PRODUCED A WEAPON…BECAUSE - POLICE SAY - HE WAS CONDUCTING HIS OWN KIND OF VIGILANTE SAFETY DRILL…TO TEST SCHOOL SECURITY.
AND WHAT HE PROVED - HAD PARENTS LIKE DAVID SIANO WAITING FOR ANSWERS OUTSIDE CELINA I-S-D OFFICES.
S/ David Siano/ Parent:44 -:50
"A guy walks in, makes threats. Everyone is sitting there terrified, doesn't know what to do - it shows that this is going to happen again."
WHAT DIDN'T HAPPEN - WAS COMMUNICATION - POLICE WEREN'T CALLED…UNTIL AFTER MILLER LEFT…AND THE DISTRICT SAYS IT DIDN'T NOTIFY PARENTS IMMEDIATELY…BECAUSE OF THE POLICE INVESTIGATION.
S/ Donny O'Dell/ Celina ISD Superintendent 1:02 - 1:07
"We're not perfect, but what we've got to do is get more perfect."
A LESSON PARENTS SAY - WAS DELIVERED POORLY BY MILLER…BUT IT'S ONE THAT STILL LEAVES A LASTING IMPRESSION.
S/ David Siano/ Parent 1:15 - 1:33 NOTE: MAJORITY OF THE SOT IS COVERED BY VIDEO
"I feel bad for the guy that did this, I know he's under some stress. His intent was probably just to say, hey, you've done nothing - and that's what it showed. So if that's what it takes - that's a shame. This guy gave up his life to make a point? I don't know if he was going to hurt anyone or not, but if there's anything that we've gotten out of this, is that we know that we are not prepared."

Just browsing the web is enough to allow hackers to gain access through the latest security hole in a product now on millions of PC's and Macs.
Rob Pegoraro/USA Today
"Once you gain control of someone's computer remotely, you can do a lot of mischief."
The problem is in Java software, a computer language that runs in the background on millions of devices.
Some say it's become favorite exploit for hackers; the target of two attacks last year alone.
Experts say Java 7, the latest version for web browsers, contains a flaw that could allow cyber criminals to take over a computer.
Rob Pegoraro/USA Today
there's really no limit. you could attack their online banking, you can get into all sorts of funds transfers
Anyone using browsers on PC's or Macs is is at risk. Though Apple has taken steps to block Java and prompt users to install new updates.
Oracle, the maker of Java, says in a statement it is aware of the flaw, but that it's limited to the Java for browsers product. Adding. a fix will be available shortly.
The U-S Department of Homeland Security is not waiting. On its website, it recommends people disable Java.
The latest security problem is the talk of the tech world. Tech journalist Leo Laporte explained what to do on his weekly radio show.
Leo Laporte/The Tech Guy
"If you go to the settings of your browser, in Safari on the Macintosh is in the security settings and just uncheck the box that says enable Java."
Experts caution users not to disable Java Script, a separate program not affected by the current flaw. Charles Hadlock, NBC News, Dallas
