FIRST WEATHER
COOLER WEATHER ARRIVES
A cold front has crossed southwest Florida and we will notice a cool-down for the day tomorrow. Skies will stay mostly cloudy tonight and it will be breezy/windy this evening. Temperatures will continue to drop into the upper 50's by midnight and land in the mid 40's inland and lower 50's along the coast on Friday morning. I expect clouds to persist overnight, with some breaks in the clouds tomorrow morning. High temperatures will struggle to get to the 70's tomorrow afternoon and the average high will be right at 70 degrees. Some beach locations may get to the lower 70's and some inland locations may stay in the upper 60's.
Over the weekend our forecast looks to be complicated by clouds. The front going through the area right now will hang-up over south Florida and give variable clouds to the skies both Saturday and Sunday. The winds will come around to a more east/northeast direction with should help our high temperatures recover to the upper 70's and overnight lows will moderate to around 60. The chance for rain over the weekend is around 10% both days.
Looking into next week, forecasting temperatures will be a challenge. Computer models are not in agreement on how cool it will be. Right now, I think good guidance would be to say that the 70's will stick around through next week and we won't be seeing any more 80 degree weather for a while. A few showers may pop up on Monday or Tuesday, but they won't amount to much.
