THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
COOLER WEATHER SOON
Today will be considered our day of transition as we go from above average temperatures back to the norm.
The balance of our day will be just fine. Partly sunny skies and a nice warm up to the upper 70s. A cold front will quick come over, and it'll give us a little cloud cover with a small chance of a shower this afternoon and evening.
So the first half of Thursday will be nice, but in the afternoon we will start to track some rain showers as the front approaches from our west. Skies should cloud-up after lunchtime and some showers will cross the area around 2:00 PM. The rain showers forecast should not last all afternoon and move through quickly.
I expect that most places will receive less than ¼ inch of rain tomorrow. The winds will increase by late day and southwest Florida boaters should be aware that the weather this morning will be nice, but it will turn windy and rough by the end of the day.
The aforementioned cold front coming in today won't bring a lot of rain; however, we will certainly notice a drop in temperatures for the next several days
Our highs in the 70's will quickly drop back to the 60's by sunset and we are going down to 50 degrees by Friday morning.
The extended outlook for the weekend looks cool with variable clouds overhead. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be in the 70's and overnight lows throughout the area will noticeably cooler this weekend.

NOT HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH HIS COMPUTER, JEROME IMMEDIATELY SUSPECTED A PROBLEM. AND BEFORE THE CALL WENT ANY FURTHER.
"And I said well obviously you know who I am, you know my email address, send me an email."
"He hung up."
JEROME ISN'T THE ONLY ONE TO GET A CALL.
BILL EFRON IS THE NORTHEAST REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.
HE SAYS TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS ARE BEING TARGETED.
"You'll get a call from someone claiming to be a computer tech service person affiliated with a legitimate computer company like Microsoft, Dell, MacAfee, or Norton. They'll tell you that your computer is infected with viruses or other malware and what they are trying to do is is trick you into buying software that you don't need."
HOW BIG IS THE SCAM?
THE F-T-C CLAIMS CONSUMERS HAVE ALREADY LOST TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
"Do not give your password out over the phone. Legitimate companies do not call and ask you for your password. Do not give someone access remotely to someone if they call out of the blue. Never rely on caller ID to confirm that a caller is legitimate."
JUST LAST OCTOBER THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION TOOK ACTION AGAINST SIX COMPANIES THAT THEY CLAIM WERE SCAMMING CONSUMERS. AND AGAIN IT ALL STARTED WILL A COLD CALL ASKING IF YOU HAVE ANY COMPUTER ISSUES.
"If someone calls you and tells you that your computer has a problem, the best thing to do is hang up the phone."
"People, especially the elderly, tend to fall for these kind of scams because they're a little more trusting, and a little less technically savvy."

PRESIDENT OBAMA SET TO LAUNCH A CAMPAIGN-STYLE PUSH, TO GAIN PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR HIS SWEEPING NEW GUN CONTROL EFFORTS.
MEANTIME - THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION IS VOWING THE "FIGHT OF THE CENTURY" TO BLOCK THEM.
NBC'S PETER ALEXANDER REPORTS FROM THE WHITE HOUSE.
Return to index of stories...
Kicking off the most ambitious federal campaign to crack down on gun violence in decades.
. President Obama Wednesday made this heartfelt promise.
"I will put everything I've got into this, and so will Joe."
But some Republicans are already signaling it'll be an uphill battle for the President.
"It is not going to be easy. I know that legislation is going to be introduced and we will look at it when that happens."
Florida senator Marco Rubio dismissed the president's plan: "Guns are not the problem; criminals with evil in their hearts and mentally ill people prone to violence are."
What's included in the new package?
A ban on military-style assault weapons like the ones used last month in Newtown and last summer in Aurora.
Limits on high-capacity magazines, that might have reduced the number of victims in both those cities.
And, universal background checks, that could have prevented the Columbine High School gunmen from buying an assault weapon from a private seller who had bought it at a gun show.
"This is our first task as a society, keeping our children safe."
To reinforce that point, Mr. Obama shared the stage with FOUR children who had written letters to him since Newtown.
"In the letter that Julia wrote me, she said, "I know that laws have to be passed by Congress, but I beg you to try very hard." Julia, I will try very hard."
Also, greeting the President: 10-year-old Taejah Goode.
"you don't want to lose your life over one little thing like a bullet."
Before signing nearly two dozen executive actions.
. the President also called on Americans to ask their representatives what's more important.
"Doing whatever it takes to get a A grade from the gun lobby that funds their campaigns, or giving parents some peace of mind when they drop their child off for first grade?"
Even before the President's remarks.
. the NRA unleashed a fiery new attack, infuriating critics with a web video that invokes Mr. Obma's daughters.
"Are the president's kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their schools?"
The White House quickly blasted that video as "repugnant and cowardly."

.In the end, you're delivering a very cheap, clean source of energy to states that don't have that much access to it.
THE GRAIN BELT EXPRESS LINE IS ONE OF FOUR LINES PLANNED BY THE COMPANY.
THE PROJECT IS SLATED TO COST NEARLY TWO-BILLION DOLLARS.
CLEAN LINE ENERGY CLAIMS THE PROJECT WILL BRING MORE THAN 5,000 NEW JOBS IN ITS STRETCH, AND BRING MILLIONS IN PROPERTY TAX REVENUE.

YES, THERE ARE CONCERNS IN CAR ELECTRONICS, THAT THEY'RE GETTING TOO PLENTIFUL. BUT HERE'S AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS CLEARLY COME.
AN iPAD APP TO CONTROL YOUR SEAT.
NOW, SAY YOU WANT TO LEAN BACK AND RAISE THE HEADREST AT THE SAME TIME. JUST A COUPLE OF FINGERTIP COMMANDS ON YOUR iPAD. YOU'RE RELAXING.
TOM GOULD IS JOHNSON CONTROLS' INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DIRECTOR.
"Everyone has their mobile devices they're bringing into the vehicle, so to be able to provide an app that speaks through bluetooth to the seat allows us to add a level of functionality that's very visual and gets the functionality directly to the seat."
THIS WORKS IN THE FRONT OR THE BACK DEPENDING ON YOUR NEED. SAY YOU WANT TO USE THE LEG RESTS. WELL, THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT.
NEED TO CHARGE YOUR iPHONE?
YOU CAN. WIRELESSLY.
LIKE YOUR POP COLD ON A HOT DAY?
THE COOLING CUP HOLDER IS JUST A SWIPE AWAY. IT ALSO WORKS AT KEEPING YOUR COFFEE HOT TOO.
AND IF YOUR LOWER BACK COULD USE A MESSAGE, AN UNDULATING LUMBAR SUPPORT COMES WITH THE PACKAGE.
NOW ALL OF THIS TECHNOLOGY IS PORTABLE. IT CAN WORK BUILT INTO THE CAR OR DOWNLOAD TO YOUR iPAD.
BUT YOU CAN'T MESS WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR'S CAR SEATS FROM SAY, YOUR LIVING ROOM. THIS IS ALL BLUETOOTH SECURITY PROTECTED.
"It's an exciting time to be a part of the car business. There's a lot of things that are coming at us from a lot of directions that are helping change our business but that's one of the things that's going to pay off for the consumer in the end."

DR. STUART BRILLIANT, ER CHIEF:00-:05
"This year we're seeing a lot of flu cases by there are a lot of other viruses that do the same thing or give you the same symptoms of the flu, but they're just not the flu. So we're seeing a lot of upper respiratory illness. In addition we're seeing a lot of G-I illnesses."
DOCTOR STUART BRILLIANT SAYS ON A DAILY BASIS AT LEAST 35 TO 40 PATIENTS WHO CHECK INTO THE EMERGENCY ROOM HAVE THE FLU.
THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL SAYS THIS SEASON, THE FLU ARRIVED MUCH EARLIER THAN IN YEARS PAST. EVEN PEOPLE WHO PREPARED EARLY TO COMBAT THE DEADLY SICKNESS ARE DEVELOPING INFLUENZA.
THAT LED US TO SOLICIT THE HELP OF DOCTOR BRILLIANT IN LETTING YOU KNOW THE MYTHS AND THE FACTS ABOUT THIS YEARS FLU STRAIN.
"Does the flu shot work?"
"This year around 60 to 65 percent of people are being covered by the flu vaccine."
"Some people say the flu shot give you the flu?"
"I think that's one of those old myths and wives' tales."
"What if you're young and healthy and really work out a lot, do you really need the flu shot?"
" Yes, it's always better to be safe rather than sorry!-"
"But you don't need to get a flu shot every year, do you?"
"That's another one of those myths. Every year the strains of the flu change."
'
"Can you catch the flu from the weather? Like if you go out without a jacket in cold weather? If you have a wet head or if you're sitting by a drafty window? "
"That is a myth."
DOCTOR BRILLIANT ADDS TAMIFLU IS PRESCRIBED FOR CONFIRMED FLU PATIENTS WHO HAVE HAD SYMPTOMS FOR LESS THAN 48 HOURS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN , SENIORS OR OTHERS WITH WEAKENED IMMUNE SYMPTOMS.
"Viruses live inside your cells so antibiotics don't work. Bacteria live outside of your cells, and antibiotics do work."
