THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
SLIGHT COOL DOWN ON THE WAY
Over the past few days, the clouds have definitely won out over the sunshine, but that is all going to change as a swift moving cold front pushes over the area tonight.
So yes changes are looming for us. The cold front will traverse Southwest Florida and sweep away the clouds and humidity. Anticipate on cooler and drier air filtering down the peninsula during the afternoon. This will lead to a partly sunny day with temperatures in the mid 70s after starting off in the mid 50s.
A chilly dome of high pressure will build over Florida in the front's wake. It will push its way down the plains states and keep our skies mostly sunny with comfortable humidity levels through Thursday. We'll even have to break out the sweaters and jackets Wednesday and Thursday morning with lows dipping into the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Temperatures will continue to run in the 50s in the morning, but a gradual warming trend is expected from Thursday in the weekend. Highs will creep back into the upper 70s.
Another cold front is scheduled to pass through our part of the state early Saturday. It'll be a dry front meaning no showers are expected with it. In fact we're not forecasting any rain for the rest of the month!
I'm forecasting another cool down for you with our next front, too. It may get a little chilly with temperatures getting down into the lower 40s during the morning hours of Sunday, and they'll struggle to get pass 75 during the afternoon.
