6:02 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX CTR

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"More sunshine is in store for your Thursday"

After a few days with mid and high level clouds blocking out our sunshine, brighter days are ahead across Southwest Florida with a series of cool mornings and warm afternoons.

Now that those clouds have shifted to our south, skies have gone mostly clear overnight allowing temperatures to drop near 50° here in town with colder readings in the 40s across our inland and northern cold spots. Through the day, plan on a mostly sunny sky with pleasant afternoon temperatures in the middle 70s.

Tonight, clear conditions will be in control of our skies, however temperatures won't be quite as cold. Overnight lows will bottom out in the lower to middle 50s with a few chillier spots east of I75.

A nice bubble of dry high pressure will continue to settle in from the northwest through the end of the week. This will keep our weather pattern mostly sunny and free of any rain. We'll also see a gradual warming trend as this cooler airmass begins to moderate.

A weakening cool front will approach the area over the weekend and eventually wash out. With this front close by, we'll more than likely see a few more clouds dotting our sky by Friday and Saturday. Through the weekend, temperatures will warm into the upper 70s with lows in the upper 50s, with a return to the 80s by next week. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Weather Trends
