"It had hit two pedestrians and as I ran through the bushes, the gentleman was lying nearby and his wife was about 15 feet further up the road and the van was just pulling off to the side of the road."
Terry Campbell says he tried to talk to bob, but he was in serious pain. Ann wasn't moving. The two were on fort myers beach for the week visiting friends. Instead of getting ready to eat dinner after watching a beautiful sunset--they were rushed to the hospital. A hospital liason with the gladiolus congregation of jevhovs witnesses who was supporting the family says Bob was going to make it but doctors told the family Ann wasn't. So the two were brought side by side on stretchers--to hold hands one last time.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
COLD FRONT HEADED THIS WAY
The weather is about to change in southwest Florida … but not too dramatically and not before Thursday. The forecast tonight calls for variable clouds and I'm tracking a few, isolated showers inland. What little rain there is tonight is moving quickly off to the northwest and it looks like the urban corridor will be quiet this evening. Temperatures will drop slowly through the 60's tonight and the low tomorrow morning will be around 64 degrees.
The cold front coming this way will not be passing through here until early on Thursday morning. That means that tomorrow will be another warm and breezy day. Highs will easily hit the mid 80's tomorrow and winds will be southwesterly at 15 - 20 mph and gusty. Boaters: there is a Small Craft Caution posted for tomorrow. The humidity will be up on Wednesday and a couple of very isolated showers may develop inland once again. The change for rain goes up to 40% after midnight tomorrow and there will be showers passing through around sunrise on Thursday. High temperatures will drop back into the 70's and we will hold on to 70's for highs for several days. Overnight lows by Friday and Saturday will be chilly once again as thermometers register mid 40's on Friday and Saturday morning. It looks like our chance for rain is going to be limited to Thursday as the cold front passes through.
Enjoy the 80's tomorrow. They will be gone for a while after Thursday.

IT WAS AN EASY DECISION FOR MADELYN KISH TO SEND HER SON TO OASIS ELEMENTARY.
They offered more programs than any of the Lee County Schools.
BUT SOME OF THOSE PROGRAMS MIGHT CHANGE SOON AT OASIS AND THE THREE OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE CAPE CORAL CHARTER SCHOOL AUTHORITY.
NATS
THAT'S BECAUSE THE SCHOOL'S SUPERINTENDENT LEE BUSH SAYS THEY AREN'T GETTING CERTAIN PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS THAT HE THINKS THEY'RE ENTITLED TO.
IT'S THROUGH A TAX CALLED 'DISCRETIONARY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT MILLAGE.
UNDER STATE LAW, IT'S OPTIONAL FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO SHARE IT WITH CHARTERS.
Our parents pay it. It does not come back to our schools. It should come with the children, especially because our schools are municipal charter schools. They are true non profits. We have no other way of raising this capital like for profit schools do.
THE AUTHORITY WANTS THE LEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO SHARE SOME OF THOSE DOLLARS.
IT WOULD FUNNEL SEVERAL MILLION OUT OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS ONE BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET TO THE CHARTER SCHOOLS.
We're not asking for additional taxes we just want what our parents pay to follow their own children.
BUSH SAYS THAT MONEY WOULD PAY BACK DEBTS ON THEIR BUILDINGS, SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND STAFF.
WITH OUT IT, THEY MIGHT HAVE TO DIP INTO RESERVES - EVEN MAKE CUTS.
ULTIMATELY AFFECTING ITS THREE THOUSAND STUDENTS.
