WEATHER IS COMING UP.
Return to index of stories...
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
CHANGES COMING SOON
It is going to be a warm, humid day with a breeze. Winds from the south to southwest will come in at 15 -20 mph and gust even higher than that. That breeze will send plenty of warm humid air in our direction to warm our afternoon temperatures into the mid 80s. Cloud cover will thicken as we finish out the day and head into the night tonight. It will be rather muggy tonight and lows will only be able to cool into the mid and upper 60s in most places. Some inland cool spots could get into the lower 60s. All of this happening ahead of a cold front headed in our direction. By tomorrow morning, showers will be moving into Southwest Florida with that cold front. It is likely that the showers move through during the morning commute and will be finished before midday. This front is followed by drier, cooler air. Highs tomorrow will only reach into the low to mid 70s. After the showers end, skies will be clearing into tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. Friday morning will be rather chilly with lows in the mid 40s in the urban corridor and near 40 inland. We'll keep temperatures in the 70s through the weekend.

"I am so looking forward to Monday when I have no schedule, no office to go to, no responsibilities."
SO WHAT'S NEXT?
RIGHT NOW, THERE IS A LOT OF SPECULATION ABOUT HER POLITICAL FUTURE --
ANDREA MITCHELL REPORTS.
Return to index of stories...
Hillary Clinton said the traditional way of doing diplomacy was not good enough for the crisis the Obama team inherited:
WE HAD AN OVERWHELMING IMPERATIVE TO RESTORE AMERICAN LEADERSHIP. IT WAS IN QUESTION. AND IT WAS IN PART BECAUSE OF POLITICAL DECISIONS THAT HAD BEEN MADE-- PRIOR TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION BUT ALSO BECAUSE OF THE ECONOMIC CRISIS AND THE FEELING THAT SOMEHOW AMERICA HAD CAUSED THIS.
From the war on terror - to the Arab spring - they faced upheavals around the world.
ANDREA:
WHAT DO YOU THINK DIDN'T GO WELL? WHAT WENT WRONG?
HILLARY CLINTON:
WELL, BENGHAZI WENT WRONG. YOU KNOW, THAT WAS-- A TERRIBLE EXAMPLE OF TRYING TO GET THE RIGHT BALANCE BETWEEN BEING IN A THREATENING PLACE-- OR NOT BEING THERE.
ANDREA
BUT IN RETROSPECT, SHOULDN'T-- A CABLE WARNING OF A SECURITY THREAT FROM AN AMBASSADOR IN A CONFLICT ZONE, SHOULDN'T THAT GET THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY?
HILLARY CLINTON:
WELL, THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HOPING TO MAKE SURE DOES HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.
She made progress, though fragile, on her lifelong commitment to equal rights for women and girls:
HILLARY:
AND I WORRY PARTICULARLY ABOUT-- EXTREMIST GROUPS, FANATICS WHO-- SHOOT, YOU KNOW, TEENAGE GIRLS BECAUSE THEY WANNA GO TO SCHOOL.
BUT WORK FOR THE NON-STOP CLINTON CAME TO A HALT WHEN SHE FELL -SUFFERED A CONCUSSION, A BLOOD CLOT, AND EYE DAMAGE TEMPORARILY REQUIRING SPECIAL GLASSES. WILL HEALTH BE A FACTOR IN DECIDING WHETHER TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT AGAIN?
HILLARY
I'm healthy enough and my stamina is great enough and-- I'll be fully recovered to do whatever I choose to do. But I don't have any-- decisions made./
ANDREA MITCHELL:
Are-- are you convinced that the original fall that led to the concussion, are you convinced that that fall was caused by dehydration? Have your doctors ruled out any vascular event?
HILLARY CLINTON:
It was virus. I had-- I had a vicious-- viral attack that-- you know, caused all of the unpleasant things that viruses can cause--/
IN 2011 - when SAVANNAH ASKED HER ABOUT RUNNING AGAIN:
SAVANNAH AND HILLARY:
: Will you run for president in 2016?
Ms. CLINTON: No. No. You know, Savannah, I'm very privileged to have had the opportunities to serve my country. And I am really old-fashioned. I feel like I've made my contribution, I've done the best I can; but now I want to try some other things./b
THIS TIME CLINTON WAS NOT CLOSING THE DOOR:
ANDREA:
do you feel that-- that Joe Biden, as the vice president, has the right of first refusal of-- as it were within the party or is it an open competition if you decide to run?
HILLARY CLINTON:
American politics is always an open competition, but I have no-- you know, I have no position on any of this. I have no opinion about it, I'm still secretary of state, i cant really engage in politics, and for the foreseeable future I don't think that I'll be at all political.

SUSAN TOLOMEO SAYS THE PAIN IN HER RIGHT KNEE HAS SLOWED HER DOWN. MAKING IT HARD TO PLAY WITH HER FIVE GRANDKIDS.
"I have to be the old Nana, instead of the younger one that I'd like to be."
SO AFTER CONSULTING WITH DR. FABIO OROZCO. SUSAN OPTED FOR A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT USING A NEW INSTRUMENT CALLED DASH.
"It helps with the accuracy of your cuts and helps with the accuracy of your alignment."
AN IPOD TOUCH IS PLACED INTO THE DASH HOLDER, AND WITH THE HELP OF PROBES AND AN APP. POINTS OF REFERENCE, CALLED LANDMARKS ARE MARKED ALONG THE LEG.
"What the computer does with those landmarks is create a 3D model of that extremity."
ONCE THE REPLACEMENT KNEE IS IN PLACE, THE SURGEON USES DASH AGAIN TO COMPARE THE KNEE'S MOBILITY. AND ENSURE THE BEST FIT POSSIBLE.
OLD SURGICAL NAVIGATION SYSTEMS WOULD REQUIRE DOCTORS TO AWAY FROM THE PATIENT, BUT DASH PUTS ALL THE INFORMATION IN FRONT OF THEM. SOMETHING DR. OROZCO SAYS IS AN IMPROVEMENT.
"It's just right there, it's easy to use."
