FIRST WEATHER
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
COOL MORNINGS TO COME
An extremely robust weather system made its way up the east coast yesterday, and I'm sure you heard about the severe weather it produced across the Southeast. It spun up tornadoes from Arkansas to the Carolinas, and wind damage was widespread as well.
That same system had a direct impact on our local weather, too. It pushed a cold front over the area, and we are feeling the affects now. The afternoon on Thursday was chilly as was the wee hours of Thursday.
… It'll get a little chillier too.
Through the evening, temperatures will fall pretty quickly under clear skies with most of the area in the middle 40s first thing Friday. It's even possible to see a few areas fall to near 39 degrees deeper inland and across our far northern communities.
High pressure has built into the area behind the aforementioned cold front. It's the reason we are seeing a tranquil weather pattern.
After our chilly start to Friday we'll contend with plenty of sunshine. Highs will stay in the lower 70s and humidity levels will be rather low making it feel very comfortable during the day.
So it's setting up to be a really nice start the weekend.
It will be another beautiful weekend here across Southwest Florida with chilly mornings and milder afternoons. Morning lows will hover in the upper 40s to low 50s, while daytime highs climb into the middle 70s under mostly sunny skies. Our warming trend will continue through the middle of next week as temperatures warm back into the upper 70s by Wednesday.

BUT MATHIEU ROY IS JUST 25 YEARS OLD, HE'S IN THE PRIME OF HIS LIFE, AND HAVING STATISTICALLY THE BEST YEAR OF HIS CAREER. AND HE'S HOPING THAT LEADS TO A SHOT AT THE NHL.
Roy - I feel like I have a chance to do something higher, but I'm good. Been here for 5 years, it's like home for me so I'm pretty happy with it.
INSTEAD OF BEING BITTER ABOUT REMAINING AT THE E-C-H-L LEVEL. ROY HAS BUILT HIMSELF INTO A JACK OF ALL TRADES PLAYER. RIGHT NOW HE LEADS THE BLADES IN ASSISTS. GOALS AND POINTS. WHILE BEING ONE OF THE BEST SHOT BLOCKERS IN THE LEAGUE.
Poss - He started out as a penalty killer, shot blocking, hitting, fights, doing whatever he had to for the team. Now he's evolved into our leading scorer. That's a pretty good evolution for a player.
Roy -My captain role is more on the ice, and the way I play. When I have something to say, I'll say it.
