THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
SHOWERS IN THE FORECAST
One more warm day is on the way for tomorrow before we see some changes in our string of warm, dry days.
A front across the northern Gulf Coast states will continue to sink southward and by late tomorrow we should see a few showers break out in the afternoon - mainly inland. On Thursday and Friday the front will move through the area and stall out to the south of us. Forecast computer models suggest that this pattern will keep our skies rather cloudy for a few days and we should be able to track some rain both Thursday and Friday. Forecast guidance says we could see over 1/2 inch of rain over that time period.
We are well below normal for rain over the last 2 months and the return of showers this week is good news.
The outlook for our weekend ahead is looking good - but it will start to get cooler. Clouds will linger on Saturday with highs in the 70's and lows will be in the 40's by Sunday morning. There won't be any record-setting cold weather coming, but you will notice those cooler temperatures this weekend.
