Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
"A warm up is on the way"
As we begin the week, we're in store for another cold morning across Southwest Florida. Through the night, winds have dropped off quite a bit allowing temperatures to plunge rapidly into the upper 30s in town with readings closing in on 32° deeper inland. As a result, freeze warnings will remain in effect for Charlotte, Inland Collier, DeSoto, Glades and Hendry until 8 am.
Sunshine will fill our skies this morning with a nice warm up on the way. By mid day, temperatures will climb into the 60s with a return to the lower 70s by late afternoon. With a cool and dry airmass still in place across the peninsula humidity values will be quite comfy through the day.
Tonight, mostly clear skies will remain in the forecast, however overnight lows won't be quite as cold. In fact most of the urban corridor will settle into the lower 50s with 40s to our north and across our inland communities.
High pressure will continue to move off the coast with winds taking more of a southeasterly turn through the middle part of the week. This will bring in a few more clouds across our skies each and everyday, while bumping our temperatures up into the lower 80s by Wednesday. A dry pattern will remain in place through the end of the work week with highs rebounding into middle 80s with lows in the middle 60s.

"Heaven help me to be strong"
McCready, who soared to the top of the charts in the mid 90's, has in recent
years received more attention for her troubled personal life than her
singing.
SOT Mindy McCready
"WHEN THERE WOULD BE SOME KIND OF CRISIS OR SOME KIND OF PAINFUL THING
HAPPEN TO ME, IT WAS READILY AVAILABLE TO GO AND DRINK TOO MUCH."
She struggled mightily with substance abuse -- even appearing on the VH1
program Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
She also fought a lengthy and bitter battle with her own mother over custody
of her son, Zander.
In 2007, McCready's mother was appointed legal guardian of Zander, after the
singer was arrested for violating probation on a drug-related charge.
McCready abducted the child and despite a court order refused to return him.
SOT Sheriff Marty Moss. Cleburne County
"I THINK THAT'S PART OF WHAT THE ISSUE IN FLORIDA IS, WAS THIS REALLY AN
ABDUCTION? IN MS. McCREADY'S MIND, NO IT WASN'T. BUT OBVIOUSLY THE COURT
THINKS DIFFERENT."
McCready said that while in her mother's care, Zander had been abused.
Her family denies the allegations.
SOT Sky Phelan, Mindy's Half-Brother
"I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT MINDY GETS AWAY WITH TELLING ALL THESE LIES."

Full Forecast
